Horse Back Riding Expedition

The horse ride at Estancia Cristina is a unique experience. The national park is an amazing place and the horses are very well trained. I had never ridden a horse and had no problem with spring. I highly recommend!

From January 15 to 18, 2025. We highly recommend staying at the amazing Cristina Estancia, located by Lago Argentino in El Calafate, Santa Cruz, Argentina. The heart and soul of Cristina Estancia, which we embodied experienced during our 4 day adventure, were truly remarkable! The highlight was the breathtaking blend of blue skies, grey clouds, gusty winds, rugged mountains, spectacular turquoise lakes, and pristine river waters. The team at Cristina Estancia was excellent! We especially want to acknowledge the gracious Esteban, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We enormously enjoyed our time with Lucas, Augustine, and Lucien, the three fabulous gauchos, during our consecutive horseback riding expeditions each day for four days! These fabuloso gauchos provided us with a lifetime experience that will forever be etched in our minds. Sambucai!!! We were also welcome by the lovely Yanet, whose warm smile from the beginning to the end of our delectable dinnings. The incredible horseback riding took us through high elevations, forest trails, and along riverbeds in the National Park of Patagonia, creating an unforgettable adventure that we will always cherish. This was the most wonderful activity I did in Calafate! After viewing some icebergs on the lake we arrived at the estancia. My guide Juan Cruz greeted me and we walked to the staple. Everything was organized well. The 2 h ride to the shelter was spectacular! Lots of bids on the way. Juan prepared a fantastic lunch and we had a good bottle of Malbec. The ride back was sumilar spectacular with many river crossings. I can highly recommend this activity.

We did the ride. Stunning scenery and overall experience. I felt very taken care of by the guides. The good willingness of the staff is to highlight from the moment you enter the boat until you descend from it at the end of the excursion. The impeccable transfer boat, excellent service, cleanliness and efficiency. Lunch overlooking the snowy mountains having crossed the water with the horses was sublime. I recommend taking a scallop for lunch as you can do it on the waterfront surrounded by magnificent scenery. You can also pay for a lunch made by them. I had two drawbacks where they had no responsibility and they solved them immediately. The facilities very well prepared.

What an amazing place , if you can afford it stay the night, the boat trip was amazing if you stay you are in the vip area, staff excellent, place wonderful, food excellent ( breakfast just slow and needs some work), very special ,we horse rode in the rain!, you must do 4wd to glacier, view one of the most amazing ever seen in life, we then walked back 14km quite challenging but so special , condors amazing views and scenery, guides amazing so supportive and brought coffee and tea and cakes, one night is enough to do everything, very windy and weather changeable but a life experience, the history is amazing , just 6 staying when we were there lovely Americans we all ate together as such lovely people , fabulous experience

I stayed at the Estancia for 3 days and 2 nights. I must say, you get what you pay for. Everything was perfect ! My bedroom was absolutely beautiful, big, and comfortable with a view of the mountains. The food was delicious, whether it’s the buffet or off the menu. I did the three days horse riding and my guide took me to different places each day. Being inside a national park you can only imagine how extraordinary the views are. I felt safe. It’s a peaceful place. Highly recommend if you can afford it.

We had a wonderful time at Estancia Cristina. Totally worth it time and money! The boat trip was very nice and organized, the horseback riding was amazing! Paula the owner of the horses guided us through a 4 hour ride in amazing places! We loved. Fully recommend!!!
