You'll notice a short rock wall to sit on; this is on Monsarrat Ave. the corner up from a Biki Bike station on Kanaina Ave. Hotel pickup is not part of this experience.

Great food tour. Not much walking because the bulk of the stops are in the same couple of blocks in the diamondhead area. But still, a great sampling of some local favorites, and a great history of the are from a locals perspective with Max.

Great eating and walking experience with Max from OnoKauaiFoodTours.com. Learned a lot of the great local eats in the Diamond Head district. Definitely will share with friends and family and come back to explore and eat. Max is informative and knows good food.

We were on a Kauai food tour with Ono Kauai Food Tours with Max a couple years ago. We enjoyed that tour so much we signed up for his Honolulu food tour. It was great. Max is very personable and takes you on a tasty tour in a local neighborhood in the Monserrat area close to Diamondhead. We had five stops with Kalbi tacos, sushi, smoothies, Mochiko chicken, and a bakery for dessert. All close together. The places might change occasionally but Max does a great job in showing you local businesses with great food. We had a great time with tasting the food but Max is great to talk to since he grew up in the islands. This is a great, relaxed activity to get to try some great food that you might not otherwise find out about. Highly recommended!
We toured some local restaurants in a neighborhood near Diamond Head and the Honolulu Zoo. The selection of foods was interesting. My husband and I were in a group with 1 other couple. Our guide is a resident of Hawaii and was very knowledgeable about the history of, culture and the food. We enjoyed the experience overall. Only thing that would have been more interesting would have been some Asian markets and exotic foods that would have been found in Chinatown.

Apologies if any expectations we set had not been met, we don't intend to be a chinatown tour, more a local food and history of the area. I do recall Sharing several dishes that everyone on tour was having for the first time. Hopefully you are able to find the markets and exotic foods you had been hoping for, & call us if you need help finding those spots!
So good! Max was awesome and very knowledgeable. We had 5 stops and it was delicious at every stop. The tacos, the chicken micchi…it was all so good and I would definitely recommend this!
Our guide was fantastic and a true Hawaii native with all the tips and tricks for our trip. His knowledge of the local food scene was just one piece of our experience as he really covered a lot of the state’s history, geography and anything else we wanted to know. The food was great and at local spots we would’ve never found or chosen for ourselves. Book this!!

It was just the four of us, so a very nice personalized tour. Max showed us some very tasty places in the Diamond Head neighborhood - places I doubt we'd ever have discovered on our own. It wasn't too much walking, everything was pretty close.
We enjoyed every minute of our food tour. Our guide, Nalu was engaging and informative. I would highly recommend!
