We had such a great evening doing the food tour with Leo. He took us to places we never would have found by ourselves, and we tried truly local dishes that were all excellent and different from the usual things we’d already tried elsewhere in Vietnam. Leo was also really great at giving us information about the food, the history and the heritage of Hoi An. I would definitely recommend!
Leo was very knowledgeable and showed me around all the local eateries. My favorite was the chicken rice! I learned a lot about each dish and the people who made them. I wouldn’t have been able to find them on my own. He was very attentive to my needs and didn’t rush through it. Very friendly and positive character! I did this the first night I landed in Hoi An. It’s a great way to get a feel of the neighborhood and receive recommendations for other places. Thank you Leo!
This tour is a brilliant way to experience Hoi An’s food beyond the obvious tourist spots. Quyen & Don took us to a mix of small local places, market stalls and family-run spots that we never would have found on our own. We tried so many different local foods throughout the tour, but I don’t want to list everything and ruin the surprise. Every stop was different, and the food was incredible. One of my favourite stops was the black sesame soup, where we met the woman who continues her family’s tradition of making it. Her family has been making it for generations, and she was so incredibly kind. We really loved meeting her and hearing about the history behind it. It was one of those experiences that made the tour feel much more personal. Quyen and Don were full of information and answered every question I had, regardless of whether it had anything to do with food. 😂 More than that, they were just genuinely good people and we really enjoyed getting to know them. I really wish them well with the tour and hope they get the success they deserve. And my only complaint, which is completely on me, is that there was WAAAAAY TOOO MUCH FOOD! 😂 We ate for three hours and every time I thought we must be finished, another dish appeared. Come hungry. Seriously. If you want to try local Hoi An food and learn about the food, culture and people behind it, I’d definitely recommend this tour.
