Stroll across the street to the Bridgetown Fish Market.and see the catch of the day, and the fish vendors boning fish, take pictures of the second oldest fish market in Barbados
Barbados has the world’s most extensive collection of 400 17th and 18th century English iron cannons. Barbados was a base of great significance for the British military that was stationed on the island in the 1700s to protect their colonies of islands. The National Armory contains most of the collection, though others can be found all around the island. View Cannons at St. James Forte.
The Broad Walk To the west of Chamberlain Bridge is the Broad Walk, a wooden boardwalk that runs along the waterfront, offering a fabulous view of the UNESCO City of Bridgetown.
The Independence Arch Bridgetown Adorned with symbols of Barbados heritage such as the flying fish and pelican, along with their national flower, the arch is a symbol of Bajan independence and a new beginning. On the top of the arch is the island’s Coat of Arms bearing the national axiom ‘Pride and Industry’, while on the base of the arch is the National Pledge
Independence Square with Statue of the Honorable Errol Walton Barrow The recreational square is a recent addition, extending over an area of approximately 50,000 sq ft and features a 9 ft bronze statue of the Rt Hon Errol Walton Barrow, known as the father of Barbados’ independence

I took this tour with Karen and my, oh my, was it a treat! The sights and sounds of Barbados felt like being in a different world. Karen provided so much historical context as we toured all of Bridgetown. It was a really immersive experience and that highly recommend!

It was supposed to be a history tour and it turned into a shopping tour. Tour guide like he was friendly, but it was not the tour we wanted.

Karen was amazingly smart and knowledgeable where Barbados history , etc is concerned!!!! There's nothing she didn't know. She was very friendly and warm..assisted us when we needed to grab a cab after the tour. She was very patient, courteous and kind. She actually gave us water for our tour. We did the historic walking tour with Karen. Karen was an amazing guide who looked after us throughout the tour, making sure we were comfortable and answering all our questions. Karen was very knowledgeable and was able to share the fascinating history of Bridgetown. There is a lot of history in the town that you could miss without an expert to point it out, such as the bricks in the carpark which arrived as ship ballast 100’s of years ago. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about the history of Bridgetown
