I booked with another girl from my hostel and our day was amazing!! Mario was so kind and thoughtful. He was absolutely hilarious and enjoyed we hiked at a steady pace where we could both keep up. We took regular breaks to adjust to the altitude and were provided with equipments (including hiking pants, fleeces, gloves, poles, raincoats, helmets), food, snacks, water and electrolytes. Overall Mario was a fabulous guide and I would 100% recommend. It was a very quiet hike with only occasional other hikers. We got picked up around 5:30am and were back home around 5:30pm so be prepared for a long, tiring but amazing day!!

Mario was a wonderful guide up Malinche! We felt we were in very safe and capable hands as we ascended to high altitude. He made sure we took it easy and was clear that it was about the journey, not the destination. All necessary equipment and food was provided at no extra cost. A great experience and beautiful views!
Excellent experience! 🏔️✨ For being my very first time hiking (and honestly, without having any fitness or prior preparation other than the desire to enjoy it), I had an incredible time. Mario was on the ball at all times, watching my step and the other girls' so that we only had to worry about enjoying ourselves. You can tell he has 7 years of experience in this; his recommendations were constant and he gives you a sense of security in activities that, to be honest, were quite extreme for me. A million thanks to Mario's Tours for this unforgettable experience and for giving us the best postcards in front of Don Goyo and Iztaccíhuatl. 🫰🏽🔥 Totally recommended!
The tour was awesome, Mario is an excellent guide and very patient, they bring you food, water, everything you need to make the experience more pleasant and comfortable… highly recommended, you will not regret it
Unbelievable day hike. Carlos is the best guide. He was super fun but also very thoughtful and safety conscious. Great views of the volcano and beautiful scenery the whole way. Overall a great experience and well worth the price.
I had a great day on this hike. It was one of the few to the Itza-Popo national park available to solo travellers, and I was grateful to be able to join a group for this adventure. Everything for the day was sorted by Carlos and his colleagues, from pick up in Puebla, to a stop for snacks (though some food is provided), the route and an optional more challenging extension, which I did. We got fab views of Popocatépetl (including a few erruptions), and our guides were great about pointing out interesting features along the way. They also made sure that everyone was comfortable with the altitude and pace, with regular check ins and adapting the route as needed. I had such a great time, I joined them a few days later to go up Malinche too! The two mountains are very different -- this one is a less steep route but being in the shadow of Popacatépetl is magical.
We had a great time with Carlós hiking in the Itztacciihuatl National Park. A few days before the hike Carlós contacted us to arrange where and when he would pick us up, which he did as planned on time. We were a small group of just 3 people. During the whole hike, Carlós took great care of us, putting safety first. Which was very important, as the weather was not very good. I am very happy that we did the extra 3 km, as we were rewarded with a great descent along a waterfall. I was a bit afraid because of the hike at high altitude, but Carlós walked in very good pace, regularly asking how we were doing. At no time did I feel unsafe. Also, he is very well informed about the area, history, nature and overall a good sport and nice to talk to. Thank you very much for this exerience.
We had a wonderful day with Carlos Ivan! He picked us up directly at our accommodation and we still had the opportunity to get a few snacks and coffee on the way. The hike was spectacular and Carlos always kept a great eye on all of us. The pace was perfect for getting used to the altitude! We decided to go up to 4200m and had a lovingly prepared lunch at the top. We felt safe at all times and would do the tour again anytime. Thank you for this unforgettable day!
A completely recommendable experience. The Hiking Puebla team was attentive to us throughout the journey, always with a friendly attitude, supporting us when necessary and making us feel safe at all times. The organization and commitment they have with each group is evident. Thank you for making this adventure so special.
Great hike. The guides consistently check in to make sure everyone is feeling well and drinking water, and they're very friendly. The drive it has a pretty bumpy road for a few miles at the end, but I expect that with any hike.
