I cannot recommend the Hidden London tour at Charing Cross highly enough — this was hands-down one of the best things we did in London! The "All Access" tour takes you into parts of the network that 99% of visitors (and even most Londoners!) never get to see, and it's an absolute treat for anyone even remotely curious about the city's history and engineering. the biggest highlight was the staff and guides. From the moment we arrived, they were warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. Our guide had such an incredible depth of knowledge — not just reciting facts, but bringing the history to life with brilliant stories and anecdotes you won't find in any guidebook. They were endlessly patient with our questions, made sure everyone in the group felt included, and had a genuine enthusiasm that made the whole two hours fly by. The whole experience felt professional, safe, and incredibly well organized from start to finish. If you're even slightly interested in London's hidden history, do yourself a favor and book this tour
This was a brilliant experience. Absolutely facilitating to go “behind the scenes” of a station which, as Londoners, we regularly use. Our teenage boys especially loved the information on the use of the station as a film set and plan to watch Skyfall again this week to spot the locations they went to. The tour guides, Sophie, Tommy and Anna, were fabulous. Engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining! A huge thank you to them. So good we’ve already booked another one for next weekend.
Excellent tour, a gift from our son, we didn't know what yo expect! We throughly enjoyed it Guides were very friendly and informative
The tour was really good and loads of information was shared about the history of the station. The tour guides (Roberto, sarah Jane and Kat) were really good and very polite. Can not wait to do another hidden london tour!
Third Hidden London tour we have done and like the previous two it was very interesting and informative. Would recommend to anyone with even a passing interest in the London Underground.
Last minute booking to fill the spot of something that was cancelled. Excellent tour! Guides had lots of information. Interesting look at Charing Cross Station. Glad that I decided to do this tour.
This was a fascinating and insightful tour delivered by highly competent and knowledgeable guides. It's amazing slipping behind the secret doors and along the dark and dusty tunnels, inches away from the everyday passengers. Visiting the sites of familiar and lesser-known films and TV shows, with accompanying clips is great fun. Viewing unused platforms with test elements for new health & safety features, fake adverts for panning shots in films, with missing ceiling sections, all add to the enjoyment. Looking up the enormous air shafts and down onto passing trains is awesome, and avoiding touching the surfaces turned black by decades of smoke and dust is fun. I loved hearing about the history of the different tube lines and companies, how they merged, diverged, how they were dug out by hand or machine.Being told that we were stood metres under the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square! How the access tunnels curve to avoid the foundations of the National Gallery! Laughing at Paddington Bear negotiating the escalators! Just so much to enjoy and learn.
It was educational and informative, love that it related to films and trialing new concepts. Tour guide were knowledgeable and funny
Absolutely brilliant experience: the three guides were all excellent- professional, highly knowledgable and friendly. It was such an interesting and enjoyable experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be booking another one!
A very enjoyable and interesting tour of the hidden underground. The 3 ladies doing the tour were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
