We had a brilliant time on Eric Plunkett's walking tour, his knowledge and love of Dublin was infectious. We started at the famous Guinness Gates on Crane St, and walked the city with our knowledgeable guide, who is related to Joesph Plunkett, one of the leaders of the 1916 rising - who famously married the artist Grace Gifford in Kilmainham jail. What really brought the tour to life for us was Eric's own connections to the city, and stories from his own family and ancestors - one of whom was Irelands oldest man - and we were told his three secrets to longevity! This tour brought us down many a street unknown to most guides and we had a lot of fun and chat and are much wiser about the tumultuous history of this complicated city.
