Hervey Bay Whale Watching Cruise

We were lucky enough to spend time watching humpback mothers, calves and escorts, with some wonderfully playful behaviour along the way. The crew were friendly, knowledgeable and shared plenty of interesting information about the whales and their behaviour. A truly memorable experience and a fantastic way to appreciate these magnificent animals in their natural environment. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Hervey Bay during whale season! 🐋💙

We had a marvellous morning whale watching… from the complimentary pick up to the drop off, the crew were all amazing. The whales also go the memo and put on a fabulous show. It was an overcast/ showery day and that did not detract one bit from the experience.

The number of whales we saw was beyond expectations. the commentary extremely informative and all questions were answered with in-depth knowledge. The crew were very attentive and available.

Great tour: bigger faster boat, so it went right out in the bay, 2 decks with access all around the boat. Apart from amazing whale sightings, the onboard marine biologist Zoe provided a lot of interesting information and all the crew was very helpful. Super!

We went out as a family and my grandkids enjoyed it. Lots of whales and great commentary. Informative and plenty of food.

We booked a 4hr morning Whale Watching Experience with Tasman Venture. We had the most fabulous time. The skipper (Rhys) was great, the Commentator (Rachael) was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable of whales. Morning tea when cruising out and nibbles on return were great

Absolutely spectacular whale watching experience! 🐋 We had an incredible day out on the water. The crew were fantastic—friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable, with fascinating in-depth commentary throughout the tour. We were lucky enough to see multiple pods of whales, which made the experience truly unforgettable. There were plenty of great viewing areas on the comfortable boat, so everyone had an excellent opportunity to see the whales in action. The delicious snacks and drinks were an added bonus and made the day even more enjoyable. A huge thank you to the wonderful crew for making it such a memorable experience. Excellent tour with an accessible boat for prams. Really knowledgeable and informative staff and commentary. Really engaging and friendly crew who we also really helpful for us and our baby. Highly recommend! The whales came right up to the boat which was incredible and we felt like the crew were just as excited as us to see the whales. Brilliant start to the holiday!

Very good experience on board crew were excellent friendly and helpful. Snacks were great. Found they catered for the people at the front of the boat when positioning the boat at 12.00 as no one could see at the back. Not like this all the time it was usually very good . But I did miss a lot when trying to get to the front of the boat everyone was hogging the railing and I was too short to see so I stayed in back as unsteady on my feet. The captain could only do what they can I suppose but I did miss a lot of action. The pick up was a little awkward as we were waiting g out the front as requested but they parked down further and we couldn’t see them as there were lots of parked cars and I finally got a phone call from them to walk down the road further as they were waiting. The driver didn’t bother to even see if we’re waiting at the entrance. So for future participants keep and eye out for the bus anywhere along the front of hotel. Trip was surprising as never been to Hervey Bay before was an hour out before we got to the whale playground I assumed they would be closer to shore which is definitely not the case so be ready for long trip out. All in all had a great time and recommend this cruise if wanting only a half day on water.
