Emek was very friendly and a very informative guide.. He showed us certain neighbourhoods that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise.. We loved the park that had an amazing view from the top of the hill and also the fact that it was covered in snow and people were skiing.. Then we went to the best library we have ever seen.. Our guide was called Emek and we had a great tour. Emek was very informative and we learnt so much about Helsinki and Finland. We went to places that are not the normal places you would go to as a tourist. The tour was so different but we absolutely loved it. We loved that we got to go to Helsinki Central Library. We walked and we used the tram. Emek purchased a 24hr travel card for each of us. If you are visiting Helsinki for a few days I highly recommend doing this tour you will not be disappointed.
I booked the tram tour with Emek last week and it was terrific. I learned about the history of the city, saw some of the significant sites and travelled by tram to a few neighbourhoods that were a bit further away from the city centre. We also stopped at a local cafe which was a nice break. Emek was a wonderful guide who answered any questions I had and since we had a small group, the tour felt quite personal. It was great to have the opportunity to someone living in the city. I was also able to use the day ticket to travel later that day by metro and tram. This was fantastic and I would recommend it!
Emek was engaging and the tour was different to what we usually do, hop-on-off. Helsinki was very easy to get around and definitely should do this tour on day 1. Mother Nature was great too and our day was clear and "sunny".
Not your average tour, very educational in understanding the history of the city. Great use of public transport and incredible public library.
