Itinerary
Check in for your tour at the bus terminal Sihlquai and board the coach. The journey begins with a round trip along the most important sights of Zurich.
Along lake Zurich you will then travel to Rapperswil and visit the castle with its rose garden and the deer park. You will also have some time at leisure to stroll through the picturesque Old Town.
In Vaduz, the capital of the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein you will have more time at leisure. A visit to the Post Office is recommended; the famous stamps from this tiny state are coveted worldwide by philatelists and amateur stamp lovers alike.
After a drive through the Rhine Valley we finally arrive at Maienfeld, the setting for the Heidi stories. In the summer months you visit Heidi's village. A pleasant short walk leads to a collection of typical mountain houses, a village shop, and of course lots of little goats. Entry into the authentic Heidi House is optional.
A beautiful trip back to Zurich along the banks of Lake Walen, guarded over majestically by the Churfirsten mountain range brings to a close this most nostalgic of Swiss tours.
Please note - in wintertime, you'll visit the quaint Swiss village of Werdenberg instead of Heidi's village.
Then after crossing the Ricken Pass with its panoramic views of the Alps we reach the lovely Toggenburg region whose pretty hill and valley scenery is perfect chocolate box material!

This was a beautiful trip. Raymond our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Dragon our bus driver did a great job maneuvering the bus on the narrow streets and getting us back safe. The trip starts with a city bus tour in zurich and after they take you to rappersvil where the views are Beautiful! Followed by heidiland and then Liechtenstein. The views on the way alone make the trip worth it. Heidiland views were also amazing. You don't get to spend much time in heidiland or Liechtenstein but it was really hot so it was fine with us. You get 4 tours in one with this one. Well worth it! Really enjoyed this trip.
This was a very nice tour. Raymond, our guide, and Lawrence, our driver, did an outstanding job of taking care of us and guiding us through the tour.
100% recommended, suggestion: it should include the pass to see Heidi's little house since if you want to buy it there you have long lines. The time to better visit the place should also be extended. We were lucky to have a guide who explained things to us and was always attentive to the group. Thank you very much
Our guide was very personable, but a bit of a fast walker. That said, he was considerate enough to wait for the slow ones in the group. There isn’t much time to see inside the buildings at Heidiland. Tickets aren’t included in the tour, and the line to buy them moved very slow.
Walking and lots of it, including a slightly steep incline walking to get to Heidi’s house. Be prepared for later than scheduled arrival back to Zurich as traffic can be an issue later in the day
What you are going to find in a magical and very picturesque place. If you know the story of Heidi, you will relive it.
Spectacular scenery! Loved it! Just wish we could have stayed in Leightenstein longer. Don’t forget to take your passport to get it stamped there.
Excellent guide and tour operator
Great time. Saw lots. Tour guide very informative.
I would like to share my experience with this excursion, as I consider that the organization could improve in several aspects. First of all, I booked this excursion specifically because it was advertised as a tour in Spanish. My parents do not speak English, so it was an important requirement for us. However, at the start of the tour, the guide asked the group if we preferred to have the entire explanation in English because the majority of the participants spoke that language. I indicated that we had booked the excursion in Spanish, but even so, most of the explanations were given in English and only a few comments were translated into Spanish. Furthermore, the distribution of time during the excursion seemed very poorly planned to me. We made a fairly long stop in Rapperswil, known as the "City of Roses," which, although it is a pleasant place, I consider took up too much time for what it offers. On the contrary, in Heidiland, which is the main attraction of the excursion, we barely had approximately one hour. That time is not enough to visit the museum houses, walk through the town calmly, do some shopping, take photographs, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. It is frustrating that the main destination is precisely the place to which the least amount of time is dedicated. Finally, about an hour is also dedicated to Liechtenstein. In my opinion, that stop adds little, especially if the excursion takes place on a Sunday, when most of the shops are closed and there are barely any activities to do. In general, I consider that the excursion has potential because the destinations are beautiful, but it is poorly planned. The language management does not correspond to what was advertised, and the distribution of time between the different stops makes it impossible to properly enjoy the main objective of the tour. I would not repeat it.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed report about your impressions. We regret that you gave our tour only 2 stars, even though you enjoyed the tour - you simply would have liked more time in Rapperswil and at HeidiVillage. After consulting with our tour guide, we are surprised by your comment, as he conducted the tour bilingually in English and Spanish. He is a professional tour guide with many years of experience and knows full well that the information must be just as detailed in Spanish as it is in English. Could it be that Mexican Spanish didn’t capture your attention because it likely has a different dialect than the European Spanish you’re used to? I can’t think of any other explanation. We regret that our excursion ”Heidiland and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich” did not meet your expectations. The tour name refers to the holiday region Heidiland in eastern Switzerland, which stretches from Lake Walen to the outskirts of Chur. According to the tour description, the tour includes a short drive through Zurich with the most important sights, then we drive along Lake Zurich to Rapperswil, where we arrive at around 12 noon, which is lunchtime for many of our customers and therefore allows a little more time. The stop in Heididorf and the stop in Vaduz take about 60 minutes, depending on the traffic situation. The tour is offered as a regular sightseeing tour, and the stop times and departure times apply to all our guests. For guests who arrive late - even if they are unfamiliar with the area - company policy allows the tour guide to continue the tour without them after 10 minutes. This is only fair, as the other guests who were on the bus on time should not have to wait longer than 10 minutes, but we had to wait 20 minutes for you.
