Dark as the devil's heart, our haunted underground network of vaults from the 1700s will stimulate and excite your senses as the sinister history of these former slum dwellings, once inhabited by the poor and unfortunate along with criminals and prostitutes, begins to come to life in your imagination! Your pulse starts to speed up as your mouth gets drier due to your heightened awareness of what surrounds you! Once experienced, never forgotten.

The guide will meet the group and then after a brief introduction guide everyone down the Royal Mile to the entrance to our vaults occasionally stopping to tell some of Edinburgh’s history along the way.
Edinburgh Vaults
The guide will show the group our torture exhibition and explain the whys and hows of how some items were used in Edinburgh’s dark history. The guide will then take the group to our vaults to hear their history and about the paranormal happenings said to have occurred here.

Great little spooky tour
Great little tour lead by the charming Ally. However, I did feel heavy heavy, sort of compressed and a bit sick when we were in the vaults...

Our tour guide Louisa was really fun, spooky and also really knowledgeable about the history side of the tour. I also really liked how much care she took to make sure people felt safe and comfortable whilst on the tour. Would 100% recommend

Haunted Edinburgh
Pick up was bang on time. Given some general notes on what to expect. Our guide Louisa was very informative but her jokes were on the bad side of poor. Anyway taken into the vaults quite muggy , damp smelling, but strangely clammy. Fasantating history on the witches on coven and an very interesting bit on the stone ring. Some hardy folk went into it. Not for me thanks. It didn't feel creepy but what I will say is on photographing one room/ area the camera picked up a mist, that wasn't visible to the naked eye. Interesting yes , scary no, maybe a touch of sadness.

A very interesting, informative and entertaining tour. The tour guide Darren was great - knowledgeable and engaging throughout and even threw in some humour and jumpscares. I would recommend this tour for anyone interested in the history of Edinburgh and the vaults.

Fantastic Tour with Aimee of Edinburgh’s Underground Vaults
Absolutely FANTASTIC tour with Aimee! From the get-go she was animated, incredibly knowledgeable and encouraged additional questions and exploration of topics! She packed a lot in over a short period of time great value time wise and economical. Highly recommended!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
