Leading by local students who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and love for Hanoi with visitors, you will walk through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter as your guide take you on a journey through time, sharing stories of the city's past and present. You will have the opportunity to visit historical landmarks such as the Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, as well as explore the local markets and shops. Your guide will also introduce you to traditional Vietnamese cuisine, recommending the best street food and local restaurants. By choosing our tour, not only will you have a memorable and personalized experience, but you will also be supporting the education and future of our local students. NOTE: - Please be noted that no tank tops and/or shorts (above the knee) when entering spiritual attractions such as pagodas, temples, The Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Complex, etc. - Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum opening time: only morning from 7:30am – 11am

Itinerary
Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel or meeting point then we will start our Hanoi Old Quarter Walking Tour. The first destination of the tour will stop by Hoan Kiem Lake, considered the heart of Hanoi. You can observe many locals interesting activities such as playing badminton, doing exercises, etc.
Then, we head to Ancient House. Situated at a tranquil street near Silver Street, Ancient House appeals plenty of tourists by its ancient but sophisticated charm of a Vietnamese traditional house.
The Hanoitimes - Kim Ngan communal house (No. 42 Hang Bac, Hanoi) is an old architectural and religious structure built during the Le dynasty. In mid 2011, Kim Ngan communal house became a cultural and performing arts venue when it was chosen as a meeting place for lovers of ca tru singing. Note: optional
Thang Long Water Puppet is a final site we will visit. Traditional legends and historical tales are among the enchanting puppet plays performed at this popular theatre. Open Hours: 3pm-8pm (daily) Price: 100,000 - 200,000 (depend on your seat)

We booked a guided tour of the old town. Gracey and another student came to pick us up at the hotel then guided us to several points in the city, with explanations and very fluent English
It was my last day in the city and the student guide was super sweet. We went to the Temple of Literature and around Hanoi. My guide, Joy, was well-informed. I learnt a lot about Vietnamese culture, history and people. I had the best time and would definitely recommend this to anyone who is visiting the capital.

I went with my son on our first day in Vietnam. We totally loved the tour / walk through the old quarter. Harley and Giang were extremely nice and adaptive to the needs for walking with a child. We not only learned many amazingly interesting fact but also some tiny basics about the language and habits. The students don’t get paid for their touring but rather do it for the English learning experience. The more I find it amazing with how much tender and engagement Harley and Giang guided us. The tour was fantastic, both my friend and I have promptly fallen in love with Nhung (Hong Nhungh Khanh) and her son Kheiñ who were the best guides. She catered to our request for a different tour and made a plan in just one day and took us around local neighbourhoods and shared the most amazing stories. We then went to the HCM Museum where we discovered that she’s an amazing history tutor too. Cannot recommend her and the tour enough. I feel the best of tour guides end up becoming your friends and the fact that she is mine right now attests to the quality of the tour and how amazing she is as a person. Please go. The tour is free and you can even customise the plan by texting your guide beforehand. We were lucky to have gotten her!
