My son and I decided to do this cooking class from @the_greek_cooking_lab and were BLOWN AWAY at how incredible the experience was! We were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome from Pavlos and Johanna in a Cooking Lab space that was beautiful and had great ambiance. We started with Greek coffee and proceeded to learn and cook five delicious Greek dishes. Paired with olives, cheese, bread, and wine, we had such a memorable experience. Different than a food tour (which we also love), this experience allowed us to learn and take recipes home to recreate authentic Greek food ourselves. Pavlos was such a wonderful host and teacher and offered so many local tips to enhance our trip. If Athens is on your travel Bucket List, you’ve got to add this cooking class to your trip! Our venue, “The Greek cooking lab”, offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels just like home, located in one of Athens’ most vibrant and historic districts. It's conveniently situated just a short 5-minute walk from the Monastiraki metro station. Your culinary hands-on experience will be guided by an experienced and enthusiastic instructor who brings traditional Greek family recipes to life. After our cooking is completed, you'll enjoy the homemade meal you have crafted, accompanied by a glass of local wine and of course your fellow food enthusiasts (groups are max 8 persons) — no need to worry about cleanup, we’ve got that covered! If you have any dietary requirements (vegetarian, gluten free, allergies), please let us know through the messaging system at least 1 day in advance, as we’re unable to accommodate last-minute requests.

Amazing experience, delightful conversation and explanations throughout the entire class. Also gave us some great recommendations and the food was delicious! We’ve taken many cooking classes abroad and this one is highly recommended!

"Paul" guided us every...
"Paul" guided us every step of the way. He made sure each of us was equally involved in the making of the various dishes. Prior to cooking, we strolled through the fish, meat, fruits, vegetables and spice markets. The Greek Cooking lab was spacious for us to prepare and eat our delicious meal. It was a wonderful experience and would recommend it to all.

Highly Recommend! Even for those that don't cook much
Our cooking class with Pavlos was terrific and the best way to end our trip to Athens! He was nice, patient, and knowledgeable. The experience was fun and interactive, and it was great to enjoy the fruits of our labor afterwards. With his guidance, the food turned out delicious. And we plan to replicate the recipes at home for our family that wasn't on the trip with us.

Very lovely and relaxing cooking experience! My husband and I ended up being the only people in this class for the date and time we booked. We had good conversations and learned so many new tricks. We were provided with a brief history of the greek cuisine and where certain dishes come from. We put our aprons on and got to work! We were provided with delicious wine and snacks while cooking as well as olives from their olive tree. Very lovely experience, we were sent the recipes by email. Additionally, the host provided us with easy to follow directions on how to get to our cruise the next day, as well as certain shops to visit in Athens. 10/10 would recommend! Oh, I can’t forget… the food was delicious!!! And since we were the only ones in the class we got so much of it!

A Must Do in Athens!
We ended up being the only two people in the class due to being on Easter Sunday. It was very hands on, Pavlos was awesome, it was like we had known one other, the way the conversations flowed easily. He guided us and gave us a little history on Greek food, he also let us taste the olives from his family’s trees. Pavlos and Anna Maria were determined to give us the best experience, and we felt it. The food was delicious, and we got to take the rest with us. Best activity of the whole trip, we would definitely recommend this activity! Oh, he also sent us the recipes and a list of restaurants to try in Athens, we only got to try one of the restaurants because we were short on time, and it did not disappoint.
