Half Day Sunset Camel Safari Jaisalmer

Well planned. Fun time. Sagan, our guide took great care of us. Wonderful to watch the sunset on the remote sand dunes, then watch the night sky light up brightly. Pasak, our camel driver was engaging and made sure each of us had fun and a safe camel ride through the desert and over the sand dunes. He made us a simple but delicious dinner to eat just after sunset - yummy.

This was a recommendation from our hotel, after we asked about a good half-day desert trip; we were so pleased to have been given the recommendation for Trotters. The company's name reflects the sense of humour and positive thinking that has made it a successful business for 25 years . Its connection to the old BBC comedy programme was raised by our brilliant guide and driver Chhgan, who could not have made our day (1.30pm-9.30pm) more 'lubbly-jubbly'. His thoughtful insights into the recent history and changes for villagers (86% of the inhabitants of Jaisalmer live outside the urban area) were fascinating; his care for us was impeccable; his enthusiasm infused our trip with a very special energy. His driving, in an open-sided jeep across some difficult terrain, was masterful. We are both older people; we felt safe at all times because of his constant check-ins to see that we were OK. After a drive via a beautiful oasis and a stop at a deserted fort, his colleague, Fousa, met us with camels in the desert. We rode, with his guidance, to a beautiful spot on the dunes to watch the sunset and then eat a freshly prepared meal, cooked and eaten over an open fire, under the night-time canopy of bright stars. Magical. The drive back to Jaisalmer got us back to our hotel in plenty of time to get ready for bed and another cup of chai. I highly recommend this tour - and all the staff, from Jamal who arranged it with us, in the office just past the fort gate, and, of course, the unforgettable Chhgan and Fousa.

First experience for me in the desert. I am happy to have had this first experience thanks to trotters tour. From start to finish the stay was perfectly organized. Being able to sleep in the desert in small groups and enjoy the starry night is priceless. Thank you for this unforgettable experience

We did two days of safari and loved it. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. The Mahendra guide is fantastic. He knows very well what he does and does everything with a smile and with very good energy. He speaks English very well and makes you feel at home The only thing that can be improved is to be a little more isolated because at night there was a while we heard the noise of a village but also the experience has been fantastic. I would certainly repeat with them.

We did a camel safari of one day, it was very Good and the guide Mahindra was so kind and good with kids, nice food nice people, very trustworthy and the best location in the desert, highly recommended!

A MUST DO tour if you are in Jaisalmer! The most friendly guides, drivers, and people. We loved the jeep ride out to the desert, enjoyed a fantastic camel ride followed by chai and snacks while watching the sunset and an amazing dinner by the fire. We will definitely be back one day to do the overnight tour!

Finding difficult to put my feelings in words but I'll say much recommended to go with Trotters if you are seeking some adventure in the desert. Be it the ride, the safari and the cooperation, everything made me feel grateful for the evening I got to witness today. Thank you for this everlasting experience:)

Highly recommend them. Reasons as below: 1. If you want to experience the real culture of rajasthan then Jaisalmer is the place. Trotters make the experience even better. 2. They are really polite and very accommodating people. 3. We reached Jaisalmer around 12:30 am midnight, their rooftop restaurant was closed, we were very hungry, Janam sain’s brother from trotter through his friend helped got the kitchen opened in another hotel, they cooked whatever we wanted, since we were 4 girls, he waited there for our safety until we finished our dinner and then dropped us back to hotel. On the way he also click pictures near the golden fort @ 2:30 am. That’s what we heard about Rajasthan’s “ mehman nawazi” culture and they proved it right. Can’t thank them enough for this. 4. The stay at little jaisal haveli was amazing too. 5. One of our family member lost phone during jeep safari ( instructions should have been provided before) but they went along with us to search for the phone at night (bonus night safari) and assured to inform if they find any information about the same. Looking forward to visit Jaisalmer again and book stay with trotters tours & travels.

I took their Camel Safari and it was nice experience. The staff were very polite and gentle. They took good care of me by arranging the transportation and by providing additional service such as waiting room even after the check out till my return train ticket.

Fabulous experience. Camel riding not for the faint hearted but once you got into the rhythm of the camel, it was awesome. Camels appeared well cared for and herders were very vigilant about our comfort and safety. Breathtaking views at dusk as the sun set. Wonderful meal in the desert with likeminded and lovely guests. Would highly recommend.
