Description

Our extraordinary tours are designed to be different. Our Tours are not just a trip, but a journey that will make your heart skip, designed to be different, extraordinary, an experience that's beyond the ordinary. Soweto played a leading and indeed a pivotal role in the struggle against Apartheid. You can visit many sites throughout the Township that tell part of the tragic, but ultimately triumphant story. You will experience the rich cultural heritage of South Africa's townships on this trip. Meet friendly locals, learn about the vibrant history, and immerse yourself in the colourful atmosphere of these fascinating communities. We then take you on a guided tour of the Apartheid Museum. We will unpack the story of the rise and fall of South Africa's era of segregation and oppression. Afterwards, allow yourself time to contemplate brutality you witnessed inside, process your shock and walk away with relief – knowing you are on the terrain where truth spoke to power and won.

One Day in Johannesburg

Thabang, our guide, picked us up directly from our hotel in a spotless vehicle, of which he is very proud. He got to know us and what we wanted to hear most about as he guided us around. We only had one day in Johannesburg, and he ensured we saw the highlights without bring in a rush.He answered our many questions with depth and transparency.. he is also kind and funny. Highly recommended this tour!!

Great tour. Really enjoyable

Tour was excellent . Witness our tour guide and driver was friendly , informative , punctual , flexible and respectful. What more can you ask for ? Car was new , comfortable and a large SUV . Water was provided as well in the SUV . We covered Soweto ( a real eye opener for me ) on how it all works and the daily struggles . Apartheid Museum is huge !! This was simply amazing ! So much content and information . One needs a complete half a day to go through the entire place and may still not cover completely . So since our tour was half a day with Soweto , we rushed through the second half of the museum . It’s can be heavy going but we learnt so much and it’s a must for everyone to understand the struggles and achievements of South Africans . Loved the experience! Beautiful country and people . Thank you Witness . Really appreciated your knowledge and your insight and made our understanding a pleasant experience .

Wonderful Half Day Tour of Soweto with Witness

We had an incredible private half-day tour of Soweto, the Apartheid Museum, and Mandela House. It was the perfect balance of history, culture, and personal storytelling. Our guide, Witness, was warm, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease. He answered every question and sharing insights we never would’ve learned on our own. The experience was thoughtful, moving, and so well organized. Witness picked us promptly at our hotel in a nice and air-conditioned SUV. He expertly drove us from stop to stop. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a deeper and more authentic understanding of Johannesburg’s past and present.
