The history of Mdina traces back more than 4000 years. According to tradition it was here that in 60 A.D. that the Apostle St. Paul is said to have lived after being shipwrecked on the Islands. Furthermore it is said that St. Paul resided inside the grotto know as Fuori le Mura (outside the city walls) now known as St. Paul's Grotto in Rabat. Lamp lit by night and referred to as "the silent city", Mdina is fascinating to visit for its timeless atmosphere as well as its cultural and religious treasures.
Dingli Cliffs are located off the village of Dingli, which is on Malta’s West Coast. These cliffs stage Malta’s highest point which is that of around 253 metres.
Blue Grotto is a complex of sea caves along the southeastern coast of Malta. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions. We stop for the panoramic view
What you can find at the Crafts Village in Ta' Qali The crafts village in Ta’ Qali is located in the former RAF wartime air-field and is a very popular tourist attraction in Malta. Here, different kinds of crafts and beautiful artefacts are sold created by local experts. You can watch the craftsmen blowing and forming glass, visit the goldsmiths filigree and beautiful jewellery and have a look at the beautiful sculptures and lace.
Valletta (or Il-Belt) is the tiny capital of the Mediterranean island nation of Malta. The walled city was established in the 1500s on a peninsula by the Knights of St. John, a Roman Catholic order. It’s known for museums, palaces and grand churches. Baroque landmarks include St. John’s Co-Cathedral, whose opulent interior is home to the Caravaggio masterpiece "The Beheading of Saint John."

Our guide John was amazing, so very knowledgeable of malta and islands near by, we had a great time,
Very personalized. You choose what you want to do and see.
We were picked up near our ship on time. Our driver, John, was very professional and treated us extremely well! He asked if there was anything in particular we like to see and took great care to show us so many important spots around the entire island! We enjoyed our day. I would definitely recommend this tour!
Amazing time! Kenneth was super helpful and fun.
Just what we planned - a tour of Maltas highlight, a nice lunch in a sea town and back to the port. Petra was bouyant and gave us a lot of information.
The half-day tour should include 4 stops. The first stop was a place that was not on the list. In the end, we saw two of the four places and stopped at others instead. Especially unfortunate - a village that is supposed to be known for its craftsmanship was not visited at all; when we asked about it, we were told it is in a completely different direction and we would not make it in time. Instead, we learned a lot about our driver's hobby - unfortunately, we were not the right audience for his favorite topic.
Our driver Alex was both friendly and very knowledgeable. We started the tour early, as he was already waiting for us and he was very accommodating to change the planned agenda to suit our requirements. I would thoroughly recommend booking this trip - you will not be disappointed..!
Great overview of Malta. There was flexibility in choosing areas to go. The company’s plan is a good one. John was a thoughtful driver with lots of information and insights. He gave us a local snack at the end of the Tour and provided us with water on a hot day.
Great experience. Kenneth was a great driver/guide, helpful along the way and made sure we made the best of our time. Flexible and practical with timings so we could have enough time in Valetta. Enjoyed all stops we made. Some routes along the way are very narrow and winding roads but felt safe and comfortable with Kenneth’s driving. He was also very helpful, always ready and easy to find when we were moving to the next stop, while not making us feel rushed. We went slightly over time and he kindly stopped to let us see a nice view of popeye village and take some pictures before the drop off. Definitely a tour worth taking, loved all locations but Mdina was a favourite. It’s very busy however but absolutely worth it.
We booked the Malta ground tour from A4 Malta hoping for local context and a guide who could bring the stops to life. What we got was closer to an UberX ride with a disengaged driver. Listing vs. reality -- If you read the listing carefully, A4 Malta excludes a licensed tour guide — but the title and framing suggest a route-based tour with some narrative element. That gap between what the title implies and what the fine print excludes is where the disappointment starts. We were expecting at least light commentary on the stops; instead, the driver could not offer even superficial information about where we were ("it is a church") and was on personal phone calls and texting between stops. The experience -- The vehicle was older and had the feel of a well-used rideshare car rather than a tour vehicle. Pickup was about 10 minutes late. At the end, it took roughly 15 minutes at the port for the driver to figure out where to drop us off — though to be fair, that may have been a port-side logistics issue, and they did stick with us until they found the correct point. This is on the operator, not the driver -- The driver was pleasant enough and got us where we asked to go. They were clearly not trained or briefed on what guests were expecting, and almost certainly were not being paid as a guide because the listing doesn't include one. The failure here is A4 Malta selling something at a tour price point while sourcing what amounts to a standard private transfer. The driver was set up to underdeliver. Better options exist -- If you actually want narrated context, book a tour that explicitly includes a licensed guide — you'll get what you're paying for. If you just need transportation between sights, a local taxi or rideshare will deliver the same experience as this booking at a fraction of the price. There is no version of this product where A4 Malta is the right answer: either pay for an actual guided tour, or pay much less for the transport-only service this effectively was.
We are sorry you feel this way about your experience, and we truly regret that we did not hear about this sooner so we could have addressed it immediately. Please note that it is clearly mentioned in the listing that a licensed tour guide is not included, but can be arranged on request. This is mainly because licensed guides in Malta are significantly more expensive, often costing around €200 on their own. That said, we understand your disappointment and agree that some basic commentary and engagement should still have been provided during the tour. We have already dealt with the driver internally and the necessary steps have been taken regarding the issues you mentioned. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve our service moving forward. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.
