Half Day Pig Island and Snorkeling Experience

To be honest, I am not sure about this tour. While they were very kind to have me as their only customer that day and they accommodated me well, my issue is more about the Pig Island visit. While the pigs seem to be looked after and are certainly fed well by all the tourists, I was concerned that the pigs had no water available for them. Like it was designed for the tourists to buy water to feed them from little water bottles. I raised this concern with my guide, and she sent a message to the owner, who acknowledged the concern, but I have no idea if anything was done with it. Other than that, the tour was okay. The reefs for snorkeling were the same as you would find in most countries, dying and grey :-(, but did see some fish. They provided water and the food at Pig Island was tasty and generous.

Terrible experience with these people. After waiting longer than an hour and a half (when we were promised 20-25 minutes), we asked for our money back to book a boat next to the tour because it was departing in 10 minutes. She said rudely that she didn't want to give us the money back because she didn't have it anymore and that we just had to wait. I told her that we no longer wanted to go and wanted our money back because we were tired of waiting, to which she responded with a nasty laugh and said we should go to the police and made ugly hand gestures while my children were standing there. Whole dirty region and mean people.

Very nice activity for pig/animal lovers. At the arrival at the pier we were met the other participants (just 2, so we were just 5 🙂) and by our guide who gave us nice, clean towels and water and explained us the program, we then took a long-tailed boat to reach the first stop: snorkeling (masks provided). Nice but not exceptional due to the visibility that was not optimal due to the weather conditions. After one hour we went to pig island: the island itself is beautiful but most of all: full of friendly pigs, from a few weeks old (cuuuute!) to big, old hags. People flocked to them and viceversa: they not they will get fresh water from visitors. It was really fun, also because we arrived quite early and the place wasn’t crowded. Lunch was simple but good. All on all it was fun and very well run by the tour operator. Nice touches: we were picked up at our resort by the tour operator himself (thanks Rob!), who also gave us good advice about restaurants, means of transportation and such; while we were on pig island the guide stayed were we left our stuff, enabling us to roam freely until lunch. Price was also lower than the competitors: definitely recommended.

Disappointing and unhygienic. The pigs do their thing on the same beach where you walk barefoot or flip-flops. They take bottles of water and walk between the eateries. This is at odds with how the excursion is sold – it is suggested that the animals are separated, but they are not. In addition, you spend unnecessary time on the island, while snorkeling is chaotic and poorly regulated. You only get 45 minutes in murky water where the crowds of providers hardly see anything. The staff is not friendly, but helpful. This makes the experience a little more bearable, but does not change the poor organization and unsanitary conditions. If snorkeling trip absolutely not recommended, and Pig Island is only suitable for those who do not have trouble with a dirty, unhygienic environment. For me it is certainly not worth repeating.

Naphat Tour Koh Samui - Half Day Snorkelling Itinerary. We booked this trip mainly for the visit to Pig Island. We were taken to Rap Island for snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. All equipment is provided within the price. The island has a bar but nothing else. Waters were too shallow for swimming or snorkelling and you were left here for 2 hours. Lunch was provided on Rap Island which was really tasty and plentiful. We then arrived at Pig Island and given around 30-40 minutes to see the pigs. You can provide feed for around 50 baht and water for around 20 baht. The pigs will take water from you and you’re given a little plate for the pellets. The younger pigs are very cute but the bigger ones will literally dig their teeth into a water bottle to take it from you, so if with children keep to the smaller pigs. The beach is lovely on Pig Island and water clean. We were then take to another snorkelling area in deep waters, you can jump off the front of the boat and ladders on the back to get back in. There is no coral and just a few fish to be seen. Again, mask and snorkel provided and they were immaculately clean. Overall a good day but could be shorter without being left on the beach for 2 hours. Food was amazing.

Pig Island, Madsun, an ABSOLUTE SHAME OPEN AIR LANDFILL Thais are ruining what was perhaps heaven, garbage everywhere on the beach, plastic glass bottles, caps, slippers... We were blown away, total crap. WE WASTED A DAY OF HOLIDAY YOU ARE NOT COMING THAI CLEAN IT UP!!!

I think this activity is really a must if you are going to Koh Samui. We had a private tour, snorkeling + visit to the Isle of Pigs. I loved it!

Magic place beautiful sea. A nice experience to do even with children. We arrived with a long thai in 25 minutes

Very intimate group, we went to pig island, had a lovely lunch that was included. Hawa our guide was lovely too.
