Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience, but we do want to clarify several points for future guests reading this review. Our tours are designed to provide much more than simply driving to viewpoints that guests could reach on their own. Our guides are professional naturalists who provide interpretation, wildlife tracking, local knowledge, and—most importantly—help guests find and safely observe wildlife that can be difficult to locate independently. On this particular tour, our other guests reported seeing numerous animals and specifically praised the guide for his extensive knowledge and professionalism. We also need to address the comments regarding your children. We absolutely welcome children on our tours, and our tours are family-friendly.You booked your 3 and 6 year olds as adults on a group tour which is against our booking policy. We require children under 8 to be on a private tour. However, the issue was not that your children were talking or being children. Throughout the tour, there were repeated instances of extremely loud yelling, including yelling so loudly that the ranger at the park entrance actually asked our guide whether everything was okay. At various points, binoculars were thrown, and the disruption significantly affected the experience of the other passengers on board. Because this was a shared tour, our guide had a responsibility to all guests—not just one family. We spoke with the other two groups afterward, and they independently expressed that they found the behavior incredibly disruptive and rude. Despite this, they specifically told us that our guide handled the situation professionally and that they thoroughly enjoyed his knowledge and the wildlife sightings throughout the day. We also want to clarify the snack comment. Water and snacks are provided on board as part of the tour. We do not purchase additional snacks or food for guests once inside the park, so a snack purchased independently during a stop is not something that was included in the tour price. We are genuinely sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations, particularly regarding the cost and the type of experience you were hoping for. However, we believe it is important to provide the full context, especially when a review attributes the experience to a guide being “bothered” simply by children talking. That does not accurately reflect what occurred. We welcome families and children of all ages, but we do ask that all guests respect the shared experience of the other passengers. Our guide did his best to handle a very challenging situation professionally while continuing to provide the wildlife experience and service our other guests had come to enjoy.
