disapointment

Extremely expensive, over 50€ per person, and you only have access to the balcony. Thie inner site is excessively overrated. Quite nothing to see. Old paintings, are hidden behind curtains. The biggest disapointment I have faced traveling, ever.

Operator response

Dear Guest, To set the record straight: the pricing you have stated is simply inaccurate and does not reflect our listed ticket prices. Furthermore, regarding access: per the official regulations of Hagia Sophia, foreign visitors are only granted access to the visitor gallery (upper balcony) area. This policy applies to all tourists worldwide, regardless of where or how the ticket is purchased. All inclusions, pricing, and official access rules are completely transparent and clearly stated prior to booking. Leaving an inaccurate review based on false pricing details and official venue regulations beyond any agency's control is both misleading and unfair.

Horrible people, beautiful city

Came with girlfriend and baby. We just had to walk 5 km back and forth. Streetsellers everywhere up to Hagia sofia trying to do everything to take your money. Then even though we came at the time, specified here, it was closed for turists during pray so we had to wait for 1.5 hour. We were aware that we had to cover ourselves accordingly as it is a mosque now, but even though she had a long dress that went all down to the floor and covered her hair in a scarf she was forced to buy a blue bag because of some slits that were smaller than the blue bag could reach - "for security". Moreover you have to carry your stroller around the mosque for the 1-2 hours which was not meantioned at tripadvisor. It was not even possible to place it somewhere. The staff outside was a little hostile and the experience was horrible. It felt like all rules changed a little every step we took. In the end we paid like €80 and did not even get in the old church we came to see. Love the buildings of Istanbul, but I met the wrong people of Istanbul. Everything feels like a scam or a hassle. Used 8 hours and didn't even get in.

Operator response

Dear Frederik, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are truly sorry to hear that your visit to Istanbul and Hagia Sophia did not meet your expectations, especially since you were traveling with your family and a baby. We would like to clarify a few points to provide better context regarding your experience: Prayer Time Closures & Regulations: As Hagia Sophia is an active mosque, the visiting hours and entry restrictions during prayer times are strictly regulated by the local authorities, which can sometimes lead to unexpected waiting times. Dress Code & Security: The dress code enforcement and security checks at the entrance are managed entirely by the official mosque staff. Unfortunately, as third-party ticket and audio guide providers, we have no authority over their strict entry criteria or the requirement to purchase additional clothing covers. Stroller Accessibility: Due to the historical nature and preservation rules of the monument, storage areas are unfortunately limited, which is why strollers often need to be kept with the visitors. That being used, we deeply regret that our on-site staff outside appeared unhelpful or hostile. This does not reflect our standards of hospitality. We are immediately addresses this feedback with our field team to ensure a more welcoming and supportive guidance for families traveling with children. We value your feedback as it helps us improve our product descriptions and better inform future travelers about what to expect on-site. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Bottom floor is now closed to non-muslims. Steep price for what little is left.

Bottom floor is now closed to non-muslims. Steep price. They've moved most of the historical stuff out of the building. So there's no much to see, especially since it's being renovated now.

Operator response

Dear Visitor, Thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration regarding the restricted areas and pricing. Please kindly note that the entry fees, restoration works, and visiting policies (such as the closure of the ground floor to non-worshippers) are determined and managed exclusively by the official government authorities, not by third-party ticket providers. Our service focuses on providing seamless ticket access and audio guide support to help you navigate the open gallery sections. We appreciate your understanding and will use your review to ensure our product descriptions remain as clear as possible. Best regards,

Easy access to site but not to the whole building

Tickets arrived as scheduled and there was easy access to the site. The mosaics on the second floor are a 'must-see', but the lack of access to any other part of the church/mosque was disappointing. The building is held up by significant scaffolding inside and major repairs on the outside also obscure the true structure. It's necessary work but makes for a slightly limited experience. Photography is also limited.
