We will visit the accessible areas of the upper gallery, where U can admire the magnificent dome, Byzantine mosaics, & remarkable architectural details while learning the stories behind them.
Please note that Hagia Sophia is currently undergoing extensive restoration. Several areas of the upper gallery & some mosaics may be partially covered or temporarily inaccessible, and the accessible areas may change as restoration progresses.
During the tour, your licensed guide will explain the history, symbolism, & architecture of Hagia Sophia, including highlights such as the famous Deesis mosaic & other surviving Byzantine mosaics. Visual materials may also be used to help you appreciate details that are currently difficult to see.
This is an engaging historical experience designed to help you understand & appreciate Hagia Sophia beyond simply visiting the monument.

Hagia Sophia tour guide

Wonderful experience with an amazing guide
Our guide was truly exceptional – very knowledgeable, professional, and also warm and friendly. He made the history of Hagia Sophia come alive and created such an enjoyable atmosphere throughout the tour. We felt very comfortable and well taken care of. Incredible Guide.
My wife and I went on an AMAZING tour of Haiga Sophia and the Blue Mosque with Ayhan. He was very knowledgeable about the history and on top of that gave some great advise about shopping and the culture of Turkey. Ayhan was patient as I walk slow, got us passed lines, and knew all the perfect spots to take pictures from. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a guide.

Very knowledgeable on Haige Sophia
We had a tour with AyHan to Haige Sophia. He has impecible knowledge of all the the historical sites. This review is specifically for Aya Sophia. We spent a good amount of time with him in the viewing area where he explained the history around the Christian and Islamic influence. He showed us the hills and heaven gates, all the marble, the reference to the Vikings etc. After we were able to go down to the prayer area to pray 🙏. We also went to the Blue Mosque and he showed us the Hippodrome. His fees were comparable and did not include tickets but we were able to skip the lines!

Great tour guide
We took combined tour with AuHAN, The Cistern and Hagia Sophia. We skipped the enormous line and had a very fun and enjoyable time. He was able to revive the past to vividly, our whole family liked it. Thank you AyHAN 🙂
