Guided Tour in Toulon: Port & Old City

Description
Toulon is the capital of Var. Its importance as a central port city for the Mediterranean coast was known back in the Roman Empire. Toulon is a permanent base for the French Navy. Toulon also served Napoleon as the port from which he embarked on his journey to Egypt. We will walk along the port dock, discuss the history of the city, look at the famous statues in front of the town hall. We will then cut into the old city and famous Provencal market and explore some of the local specialties. We will continue into the heart of the old city, looking at houses, fountains, telling stories, and presenting the previously vibrant figures of Toulon. Cruise ship passenger? My pleasure to meet you at the terminal or as you get off your tender boat. Small groups and I speak with you, not at you. Hundreds of passengers have enjoyed the city with me. Perfect for people with reduced mobility, as it's all flat with no stairs. Look no further, if searching for a tour in Toulon!

For anyone considering an alternative to the standard TUI cruise excursion fare, the ‘Floating in Provence’ is a great option. Sarit is an excellent guide, with an in-depth knowledge of the history of Toulon and places of interest. The pace of the walking tour is leisurely and she was able to direct us to distinctive features we would otherwise have missed. The food and culture of the area are also well covered during the trip with plenty of time to make purchases along the way. For anyone who, like us, may have had reservations about an online booking in another country, I hope this review acts as reassurance. It was well worth it!
Our tour was a great experience with a small group and very informative guide. We loved the little stories and information about each stop through the charming city center of Toulon.
Sarit Zadok did a great job of explaining the history and local in formation of Toulon. Enjoyed walking the beautiful city and hearing the stories. Had time to break in shades and grab drink & snacks. Europe was having a heatwave while visiting
No one showed up to the tour, we waited for 30 mon. Past the time, asked for a refund, received no reply.
Hello Paul, and I'm sorry for your experience. You booked this tour at the last minute. I answered all your questions and gave you the contact details to your guide. The guide wrote to you at night (instead of sleeping) confirming your presence for the following morning to which you replied that you 'do not confirm' by sms (I have the screenshot). So you cancelled your presence. Then you called her at 10:30am, the following day, allegedly from the meeting point, asking where she was. If you cancel the guide will not come (it was just you two), especially during a heat wave.
Don’t just wander around Toulon, learn why it’s such an important city. Our guide walked us through the beautiful streets while taking us back in time. Wonderful stories and a history lesson made this port stop so much more than if we had just strolled through unaccompanied.
Very enjoyable relaxed walk around Toulon, knowledgeable and interesting guide, great communication skills.
Our guide Sarit gave us a great introduction of Toulon. She was easy to communicate and had great historical knowledge. I would recommend Sarit for your tour.
Put map on walking mode to find meeting spot! Wear comfortable shoes and bring drinking water. Guide was very nice and knowledgeable! Took us to many historical places.
There is a lot of walking, no stairs, even ground. Offered some much history to us. She also had various stories about people from the area and I was unaware of Toulon having a naval base. That too was interesting. Beautiful weather, beautiful day.
Very interesting and informative. Learned so much about the history of Toulon. Sarit was a pleasure to work with.
