Did you know that the Pakleni Islands’ name is often mistakenly translated as “Hell’s Islands”? Although the Croatian word “pakleni” translated to English corresponds with “hellish“, the name originally derives from “paklina”, an archaic word which refers to the pine resin once used to coat ships that was harvested on these islands. Kayaking is an excellent way to explore and discover the chain of 14 untouched Pakleni islets that are approximately 10 km (6.2 miles) long, with a very indented coastline and numerous wonderful bays and beaches. The islands are mainly covered with pine trees, providing you with the shade you need on hot summer days. We use modern Sit-on-Top single and double (tandem) Feelfree kayaks fitted with deluxe seats, paddles, and all additional equipment included. Their advantage over sit-in kayaks is that they fit all types of people (including those with long legs) and, because of their open decks, there is no risk of being trapped in the kayak if it tips over. The kayaks are very stable and suitable for beginners due to their large capacity and wide bottom. We also offer dry bags (100% waterproof, 3L or 30L) where you can put all your personal belongings (towels, clothes, shoes etc.), including mobile phones, cameras and other personal items that must stay completely dry during your kayak trip. Depending on your personal preferences, the duration of the guided kayak tour, and the weather conditions, your guide will suggest the best possible route for your kayak group. You don’t need previous experience in kayaking and our experienced guide will teach you the kayaking techniques you need to be safe and comfortable in the water. Your guide on the tour will also share with you all interesting information about the Pakleni Islands, local life on Hvar and the island’s and history, kayaking, flora and fauna around etc. Due to our good location, many attractive places on Pakleni Islands, like beautiful pebble beaches (eg. Mlini beach), are less than 2 km or 40 - 60 minutes away (one way) from our center by paddling. On the Pakleni Islands you’ll be able to take a break with your guide and you can taste some local food or have something to drink in the nearby restaurant, swim or relax. The guide will also show you the best spots for snorkeling to enjoy Hvar’s rich underwater flora and fauna.

We had an amazing day on the water with Marco. Honestly- we had no doubt this would be a great tour. We e-mailed with a query a week before we went and received a detailed response in a couple of hours. Going with our two kids and knowing that we would have to cross a busy channel, we wanted a guided tour. Marco was knowledgeable, friendly, and just fun to be with. He taught us so much about the area. I have been dreaming of kayaking in Croatia for 10 years and this tour totally lived up to my expectations.
This is a fantastic way to see the islands close to Hvar. I haven’t kayaked before and I found it easy, the instruction was great and our guide Marko was both interesting and patient-he also kept us feeling very safe. The whole family loved it (3 adult children) - it’s a great way to spend a few hours.
Fantastic guide, highly recommended tour. Our guide helped us a lot considering it was our first experience in a kayak, he had to help us by attaching his kayak to ours. We visited 2 beautiful beaches, where we stopped to go snorkeling and the guide taught us and gave us explanations about the local nature. I would do it a thousand times over and I highly recommend this company.

The guided kayaking tour of the Pakleni Islands was an incredible experience. The route was manageable even for beginners, and the crystal-clear water was absolutely stunning. We explored several different islands, each offering its own unique charm. Lunch was delicious. Our guide, Steve, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we felt supported throughout the journey.
It was a bit strenuous, but great fun! Our guide, Esteban, was a gem. We ended up having a private tour with him, and he was a great help and terrific person. The beaches were gorgeous and we had a fantastic day!

The island you Hvar is spectacular, our Recommendation! With the changeover of the euro Prices have risen a bit. Moving well you can also find Locals with lower prices! Recommendation to visit Jerolim (Pakleni Islands) and Dubovica
One of the best kayaking trips we’ve ever taken! We visited Hvar for one day on our windstar cruise and had a great day on the water with our guide Rino. Meeting location was an easy walk from the port and Rino was ready and waiting to take us on our adventure. We stopped at an adorable little sandy beach and inlet well as Mlini Beach. Rino was very capable, knowledgeable and experienced. Despite a decent amount of water traffic with larger boats we felt safe and confident on the water. Our family had an awesome time. Highly recommend!
Awesome trip. Our guide Reno was the best. Super patient and gave a lovely history of Hvar and talked about the culture. Didn’t get in patient with us at all. Recommend this trip and the guide.
