The tour to Elephanta island to see the caves and carved figures was superb. Marshall our guide met us at the hotel and accompanied us on the ferry to the island which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We were met by Trikal who was to be our guide for the caves, a fourth generation islander. Trikal was very informative and made our tour very special. He took time to explain the significance of the cave in the Hindu faith which made the visit excellent. Following the ferry return, Marshall took us on a city tour with J.Q our driver. J.Q was a careful driver in the very busy Mumbai streets. We visited some of Mumbai’s historical buildings but most memorable was the visit to Dhobi Ghat the famous outside laundry. It was incredible to see families who have worked there for generations and their endeavour to continue a very hard working tradition. Finally a visit to Crawford Market, one of the largest in India completed a very special day in Mumbai. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour, and if you are lucky, you get Marshall as your guide. One of the best we have ever had on a guided tour anywhere.
