Only 2 persons booking allowed
It's really sad that this trip can only be booked for at least 2 persons. I'm alone on travel in Guangzhou and would have loved to book this tour...
is it a mistake from the system or is it like it is? If so then absolutely not suitable for solo travellers

Fascinating trip round old fish market and traditional food stalls
Maggie was enthusiastic and informed and was very well organised. Lots of interest and insight into traditional local ingredients and food. Lots to eat including excellent prawns, duck and dumplings.

Totally worth it!
If you are into food it is totally worth it.
you'll get a good sense of Cantonese food and where to eat in the city.
Maggie will most likely be your guide and she is absolutely amazing. I literally bombarded her with questions for 4 hours and she had the answers to everything

Delicious Tour with Maggie/Eating Adventures
We scheduled a tour for just our group of 4. It was so easy to schedule in advance as communication was prompt and thorough. Price was very reasonable. Maggie, our guide was flexible and went above and beyond in being helpful and gracious. We were going to be late because of the time it took to get the 24-144 hr China Visa. Maggie rearranged the tour a bit and met us at our hotel to accommodate. The tour was so informative and the food choices were varied and delicious. My mouth is watering as I write this review! Thank you Maggie and Eating Adventures.

Fun day with Ray and great food.
First time to Guangzhou and Ray made our first day memorable. He was very knowledgeable, answered out questions... All 300 oh them 😁
We really enjoyed the sites, the variety of food to try, and all the things we learned from Ray about the locals, the area, the food and more.
Thanks for the fun day Ray.
Operator response
Thanks Vaughan, Great to hear you enjoyed your first trip to Guangzhou. Ray grew up in Guangzhou, there is no substitute for true local knowledge. The more questions the better, Guangzhou is an awesome city that people should know more about. We hope we have inspired you to come visit Guangzhou again. Those restaurants were just the tip of the iceberg!

Very Insightful Tour!
Our first time taking a tour with a guide since arriving in China . . . Maggie made us believers! We will certainly do this type of tour again as we travel throughout SE Asia. She provided us lots of interesting facts about the area, markets and Cantonese cuisine. The seafood market is something to see!! Definitely come hungry as you will partake in quite a few different local foods. We stayed on the quaint Shamian Island which was conveniently located near the tour area of Liwan District and a metro station. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Guangzhou! Thank you, Maggie, for a wonderful day in spite of all the rain.

Thank you Allison for your review. The seafood market is quite remarkable, with a huge range of fish and shellfish for sale (most of them stored in tanks, still swimming). We have even seen whole live crocodiles there. Definitely one of our favourite places to go in Guangzhou.
Maggie is a fantastic licensed guide, and there is no better way to see Guangzhou than with a true local cantonese guide.
We hope to see you in Guangzhou again.

Great tour
Although we are not new to Guangzhou, it is not easy to navigate in this city and find good places to eat. Adding to it lack of information online, you are basically on your own trying to find out about the local cuisine. We were so happy to take this tour. It was amazing. Maggie, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and super helpful answering all our questions. We tried fried garlic and pepper shrimps from the local fish market, wondeful roast duck, dim sums, dumplings and chinese desert. Everything was delicious. I loved the chinese medicinal market, we finally bought some good teas there. Totally worth it.

A must do when traveling this area of China
We stayed in Foshan and took the metro to Liwan to take this food tour. The metro was easy to navigate and the tour was amazing. The fish market is incredible to wander through and the fresh prawns and scallops our first delight of the day. Please come hungry as there is an abundance of food during the tour. Maggie and Ray where excellent guides through the markets, shops and streets of Liwan. Unless you know a local, you would never find these special places to eat and experience a food adventure. Highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Special tour, not possible without the guide
Great tour of the markets, shops and food of the Liwan area in Guangzhou. The tour guide Maggie made the day special with knowledge of food, the area and local customs and culture. There was plenty of local food and Maggie gave her own time to helping us use the Metro. All together, this was impossible to do without a guide and much richer for Maggie's help and knowledge.
