Group Surf lesson for Beginners (5 Person)

I had such a brilliant time with Ama Surf School! The instructors were super friendly, patient, and made the whole experience feel really safe and fun. They explained everything clearly, helped with technique, and were cheering us on the whole time. The beach was gorgeous, the boards were great quality, and the whole vibe was just chilled and welcoming. Whether you’re a total beginner or just brushing up your skills, you’ll walk away feeling more confident (and with some great photos!). Would definitely book again – such a highlight of the trip! 🏄‍♀️✨

Me and my girlfriends did the 7 day package! There were some communication issues between ama and the hangout hostel about what was included in our package price and who to pay. Surf lessons were 10/10 very good teachers! They try to teach you as much as possibly in a very short time, can be a bit overwhelming but very good knowledge to have. The skill progression for our surfing went really fast. I injured my knee a little so I had to skip the 2 last lessons but it was fine 🏄‍♀️ On our 3rd lesson they even sneak filmed us to later show us the footage on what went wrong/good! That was very nice as it’s hard to realise your mistakes on the board without seeing them from 3rd person perspective. Very very nice experience to have and I will always remember my time in Weligama!

Great experience and great service. We had the chance to spend almost a full day at the school having first a wrap up group lesson with professional instructors and after a free time surfing. The area is fantastic and we had fun for all day enjoying also a barbecue nearby. Nice discover and strongly recommended if you are in the area and you want to enjoy the bay.

I loved the team here. Their vibes, guidance and friendliness makes them approachable and fun. It was my first time surfing and I probably had the best time!
