Visited the museum as part of pyramids and sphinx booked through Tui while staying in sharm. The whole day was fantastic, early pick up from hotel and taken straight through at the airport where we were met at Cairo airport, we had a private trip and glad we did, great experience with our guide shahinaz meday from Travco Tours who with a driver took us through Cairo, to the pyramids, sphynx then lunch at a top hotel before going to the museum, this place is huge, we had 2 plus hours however it could take a whole day getting to see everything on show, tutankhamen was awesome, statue of hatchetsup to mummies, there's so much to see, plenty of photo opportunities and a beautiful setting in the gardens with water features . There's restaurants inside and toilet facilities. We went on a Sunday which is the quieter day to go if you don't like crowded places however still busy. A must visit, definitely recommend whilst in Egypt.
I paid for an 8:30 am tour. A few weeks later the time was changed to a 9:30 pick up from hotel. This was totally unacceptable. Disappointed.
Mohammed provided the perfect tour of both the Civilisations museum and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Knew his way round and knew his stuff. Very informative. Interspersed with the perfect tea, coffee and lunch breaks. Could not recommend him more highly. Driver was a lovely man too. We laughed a lot!!
Communication was impossible. All of the emails I received with links to tickets, modifications etc were worthless as none of the links worked. I was not told that WhatsApp would be used for communication. It was not possible to contact anyone. The tour never took place but they charged me anyway. I would avoid at ALL costs and I travel a great deal. Less than one star. Abusive phone calls after no contact at all. Less than one star.
I was picked up at my hotel and dropped off at the main gate and told I'll see you in 2 hours. There was no guide. The museum itself is a 10 out of 10 and I really enjoyed exploring the museum at my own pace ALONE. I would've been better off just taking an Uber. The museum is such a great experience it overshadowed the poor performance of this tour operator. But there's no way I could recommend them.
Osama, and driver were excellent as guild, and safe driving through Cairo, great tour of the museum, & shops
Excellent service, we made the excursion to a comfortable schedule for us, we were picked up by our airbnb and then brought back. The driver badr excellent, and our guide in Spanish amir also, excellent explaining and very friendly with us.
Huge. That's all there is to this topic anywhere. For people who are in the matter, unfortunately a bit disturbing: not 100% chronologically structured. It takes two hours to watch, several days to experience, and should also treat yourself to two or three hours in the Old Museum in Cairo.
All Priceless and ancient items are collected and displayed on this place and you must not miss if you come to Cairo, specially for the people who don’t have time to visit other cities like Aswan or Luxor This place is the Summary of all mummies and statues of old Egypt
am privileged to have had the opportunity of a lifetime to visit the Great Egyptian Museum. The Museum is an architectural marvel inspired by a Japanese architect, giving it lots of light and clean lines. It is large and one does not feel crowded in. The pieces of history are breath taking from King Tuts gold mask to the 4000 yr old boat of King Khufu - displayed in the mighty splendour of intact Lebanese cedar. One can't help but relive the era of Pharaohs, items preserved for the afterlife, gigantic images of rulers, jewelry, precious stones, furniture and the numerous intricate sarcophagus. As a Christian, it made me realise that the biblical stories are real and Egypt was and is still a great nation whose existence and lifestyle is around the River Nile. I land the authorities for completing the new Museum. I also went to the old one at Tahir square and must say, the new one does Egypt justice for future generations.
