First visit this typical Sicilian Village where some scenes of the Godfather were played
Our Licensed native English speaking will meet you at 10.00 AM in the lobby of Your accommodation in Taormina, Giardini Naxos or Letojanni. After 20 minutes driving with 8 seats air-conditioned minivan you will reach Forza D’Agrò, a real and authentic small Sicilian village. Take a Walking tour of the old town and visit the places where The Godfather movie was played. After a Walking tour of the village with explanation of Sicilian authentic culture and way of leaving You will drive towards Savoca, the second Sicilian small village where the movie was played. The famous Bar Vitelli where Michael Corleone met the father of his future wife Apollonia. Then walk 5 minutes to reach Saint Lucy Church where they got married. While taking the walking tour Your Guide will introduce you the real history of Sicilian Mafia, how it grows up and spread very fast all around Italy. You will listen about the real structure (cupola), about its Boss and about the Mafia clan wars to control the territory. You will discover how 2 Sicilian Officers (Falcone and Borsellino) thanks also to some “Mafia repented men”, were very near to discover the truth about Mafia and its collusion with Italian politicians. You will know how it really ended up with them. After the Walking tour you will stop in a nice elegant food venue. Here you will be served a typical Home-Made Sicilian Plate of Pasta and a Glass of red wine while enjoying authentic panoramic views of town. After light lunch in 30 minutes driving You will be dropped off in your accommodation. Expected return is around 15.00.

Being driven around alone was worth it as the views are spectacular. We didn’t really get a background on the mafia but the tour itself was great. Our guide knew his stuff and was a clear fan of the movies. I would recommend to anyone, even those not in love with the Godfather.
Magnificent excursion! I am a movie buff, I know the films by heart! Super nice tour with Giovanni! He is funny and tells anecdotes about both the film and the region! A must-do!

Although we were staying in Giardini Naxos, the tour company agreed to collect us from our hotel which was really helpful as other guests were travelling from Taormina. From start to finish, Carlos our guide was exceptional - friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. He always ensured we were comfortable walking in the heat and made life easier by cooling the mini van before we embarked on the next part of the tour. As fans of the Godfather Trilogy - we could not have asked for more. He intertwined personal anecdotes and interesting facts before arriving at the destinations which really brought the locations to life. This was all rounded off with a superb lunch with our small group which was a great way to end the experience. For those of you who are visiting Sicily for the first time it is also a great way to get insights on the culture and history of the area. Worth every penny!
This was a great experience. Denise was very knowledgeable about the towns we visited. The scenery was beautiful and lunch was delicious.
The trip overall was fantastic with an affable, knowledgeable guide who had excellent English. Bar Vitelli was covered in foliage that prevented any photos of the outside unless you entered and bought something or on the day we went unless you had a booking. One of the churches was undergoing renovations but it was great to see it and Savoca. The lunch was surprisingly good and the various stops on our journey were very much worthwhile. Even if you aren't a Godfather fan the trip may suit you as you see so much of the surrounding countryside and its villages. Our group of four gave an average mark of 9/10. Excellent
The Godfather vs. Mafia excursion was nothing short of amazing! Our tour guide, Valerio was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. He did an excellent job of juxtaposing the theme of the movie with the real life violent history of the mafia family from Sicily. The tour was enjoyable and the pasta lunch was delicious!! I most definitely recommend this tour when visiting Messina!
It was such a fun and interesting tour. We were a group of 6 adults and we all really enjoyed the day! From the beautiful scenery, the small towns that we visited, the wonderful lunch, the host of the cafe Giovanni and our guide Giuseppe, it was great tour! Giuseppe was so friendly and knowledgeable! I would definitely recommend this tour! Thank you Giuseppe for a wonderful day!
Daniele was very nice and gave a decent tour. Please note that you will go on some very scary rides up two separate mountains. The vistas were amazing and the lunch was tasty. I felt like it was a little expensive for what you get, but all in all it was a good excursion.
