Disappointing

I was disappointed. It's not really a glass bottom boat, but just a window in a lower level. You only go down there for a few minutes. And see some sea lions for a few minutes. The staff was friendly.

Operator response

Hi Melanie, thank you for your feedback, and we’re glad to hear you found our crew friendly! We’re sorry the experience wasn’t quite what you envisioned. Glass-bottom boats come in a few different designs. Rather than looking down through glass in the floor from above, our boat has an underwater viewing room where you actually walk below the waterline and sit right next to the viewing windows—almost like being inside an aquarium. This gives you an up-close view of the fish rather than looking down at them from several feet above. Over the years, we’ve adjusted the timing of the trip to balance the underwater fish viewing, sea lions, harbor sights, and time on the water into our 45-minute experience. We understand that some guests would love even more time downstairs, though, and we appreciate the feedback. We’re sorry it wasn’t the experience you expected, but we appreciate you joining us and the kind words about our staff!

Loved the glass bottom boat!

My husband and I took our son on the boat for his birthday and had a fantastic time! Captain Scout was incredibly knowledgeable! It was super cool to see them reinforcing the break wall with the giant boulders! Our son loved the sea lions and all the fish! Highly recommend this to everyone!

Great family activity

This is such a nice family activity. It's a small boat, seats about 20 people give or take. The captain splits the group into 2 groups and we take turns going down under to see the fish.

A waste of time and $

NOT recommended for Anyone. . Saw literally a few fish at bottom for about 10 mn because our boat was about a few fr away from port.

A fun, adorable and time friendly activity that takes you out onto the water, learn some local history, and see sea lions and the fish.

Not what we expected , thought boat was bigger

Didn't go , boat was a lot smaller than in the pic. Looked like a cool experience but when we saw the boat and compared to the one advertised we opted out.

Operator response

Hi Tim, Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry the boat wasn’t what you expected. One thing that’s unique about our vessel is that much of it is actually below the waterline. While it can look smaller from the dock, the boat is Coast Guard certified to carry 19 passengers and has a large underwater viewing room where guests walk downstairs to watch the marine life through the glass-bottom windows. That lower deck isn’t visible from the outside, which can make the boat appear much smaller than it actually is. We’ll continue looking for ways to better show that part of the experience in our photos and descriptions so guests know what to expect before they arrive. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.

Great afternoon

We had a delightful 45 minutes in the harbor with our 6 & 10 year old grandkids. Captain Scout was very knowledgable about the harbor & it’s history, you get up close to the sea lion platform & when it’s time to go below to the window that’ under the surface you really do see the fish they show on the website. Scout also lets the kids drive the boat which was super fun for them & us!
