We really enjoyed this activity when in Grindelwald and would recommend it. It’s about an hour activity and the bus from town centre was €6 return.

Can you imagine how long it takes for ice to carve a 300m deep gorge in rock? It's really quite incomprehensible, and an awesome sight to see. This is one truly impressive feat of nature. You can now walk 1km into the gorge via a wooden walkway and explore the unique rock formations and tunnels. You will find information points along the way to learn about the unique history of the Glacier Canyon. This is the perfect all-weather activity for all ages. It's easy to access and can be added to most of your day trips in the area.
It took 250 million years for Mother Nature to carve out this incredible canyon! Sadly the lower glacier no longer exists, but the canyon itself is now thriving as a popular destination for a unique sensory walk through its exposed rock galleries and tunnels. The rushing water cascades freely from the mountains into the Lütschine River below, sometimes causing a sudden rush of wind through the canyon and a rapid temperature flux as rays of light reflect along the steep walls.

Really interesting hike through the canyon with great information about the glacier's retreat over the years. Also, there is a fun net to walk on over the glacier water if you chose to do so.
Thanks for the great review! 😊 So glad you enjoyed exploring the canyon and learning more about the glacier. And the Spiderweb definitely adds some extra fun! 🙌
Great time and beautiful thing with family
So nice to hear! 😊 Glad you had a great time with your family. Thanks for joining us!
Easy walk through the canyon. Better to wear shoes that are securely attached to your feet for the net over river - my boys wore crocs and we almost lost one in the river!
Thanks for the tip! 😄 Secure shoes definitely make the adventure easier! Glad the Croc survived its close call!
Really interesting walk through the canyon, our daughter loved walking out over the fast flowing water. Felt it was good value for money, easy to book and very easy to get to on the local bus.
Thank you so much for your kind review! We're glad you and your daughter enjoyed your visit to the canyon. Thanks for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!
Nice stroll thru the canyon, doesn’t take to long 🚶2 hours walking very slow. My 6 year old son loved the spiders web suspended over the river between the two canyon faces. Take a jumper as the temperature dropped a lot thru out the canyon walk. Shame they haven’t continues the walkway to the glacier.
Thank you for your review! We're glad you and your son enjoyed your visit! Thanks for sharing your helpful tip about bringing a jumper. We hope to welcome you back again!
A beautiful place in contact with nature, a bit pricey but in my opinion, it is worth it. Wear technical shoes because in some areas like tunnels or places where water flows, it can be slippery; not suitable for those who are afraid of heights (I recommend looking ahead or above, not below!) Otherwise, you might get stuck, and for those like me who have knee ligament issues, it is manageable going up with calm and patience, but you need to be careful on the way back. You can easily reach it by bus. There is a good restaurant and parking available. We went on Sunday around 11 AM, and fortunately, there were not many people around. I hope I have been helpful

This was a fun and interesting walk through the canyon learning about the surrounding glaciers. It’s an out and back walk of about an hour. We didn’t take the bus and tried to walk back to Grindewald instead, but this isn’t a great idea. Traffic, steep hills, and there aren’t sidewalks the entire time. We had just done a big hike so we started tired ;) overall would recommend this activity to learn about the history of the glaciers and how they are being impacted by climate change. Went with a 12 year old!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! 😊 We're glad you enjoyed exploring the Glacier Canyon and learning more about the area's fascinating history. Thanks as well for sharing your tip about the walk back to Grindelwald, it will be helpful for future visitors. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the mountains! 🏔️
Nice walk through the canyon but not a lot to see. It’s called glacier canyon but the glaciers disappeared a long time ago so it’s just rocks. There’s a rope net over a section of the canyon which you can walk and jump on. It is overpriced for what you get. To get to it from Grindelward take bus #122 which is free for tourists. From Grindelward train station or gondola station you will need to take bus 121 or 123 to get to Grindelwald town centre and then catch bus 122. These three buses are free ( but not bus 120 from the train station).
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the walk through the canyon and the Spiderweb experience. We understand that every visitor has different expectations, and we appreciate your honest comments. Thank you as well for sharing the transport tips for future visitors. We wish you a wonderful time exploring the rest of the region!
Great walk along the canyon beautiful among the rocks and the river, the canyon is stunning well worth visting a real photographers dream, hard to belive how Global Warming has affected the Glacier which has unfortunately disappeared, May for me was a great time to visit as there was no overcrowding, the walkway is narrow, well worth the money, walk took about 21/2hrs as there are many photo opportunites along the way,
Thank you for your thoughtful review. May is indeed a wonderful time to visit. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, and we're glad the Glacier Canyon left such a lasting impression.
