Guides are crooks
The guide is knowledgeable, but he will try to take you to places like the perfume "museum" and the papyrus "museum", but they are just stores. He wasted my time from the tour there and then I had less time at the Great Egyptian Museum. The guide gets 50% of whatever you pay, yes, 50%. Do NOT buy anything anywhere a guide takes you because the prices are usually 4 times higher than what you can pay if you are a good negotiator and you go on your own. I "negotiated" them down to $20 for a papyrus, and then I found the same ones for $3 in a regular store in a market. To boot, the crooked guide took me to an expensive restaurant, where they apparently ate for free, and the restaurant charged me over $20 (I assume for his meal). I'm disputing that charge. Just beware of all guides in Egypt - they are all out to make money however they can for themselves, especially in every store they take you to.

It is clear that this negative review is a direct retaliation for not getting a free tour.

We never force any guest to visit shops or buy anything; all itinerary stops are optional and agreed upon beforehand. Furthermore, restaurant choices are made to ensure food safety for tourists, and every guest pays only for what they personally order.

A wonderful day
Hajira guided us masterfully and Amir drove us from the hotel (which was not in the predefined list but it did not affect the Service at all), to the pyramids of Giza, to a papyrus factory, to an Egyptian specialty restaurant, to the Grand Egyptian Museum. A day of being told the history and ingenuity of this great people, and even receiving valuable advice for the rest of our journey. We highly recommend!
