Отвратительно.

My daughters and I decided to go on a tour – this was our third time – but this time we were in for some very unpleasant surprises! The stop at Danlus Castle. There is an admission charge for this, which isn’t mentioned in the tour terms and conditions. Lunch at the Dark Hedges restaurant was nothing short of a rip-off. You can only order a huge portion for one person, but it’s far too much and far too expensive; they won’t let you share it. There were three of us, and when we asked for extra cutlery, we were refused – which shows a complete lack of respect for tourists! What’s more, the seats on the coach were wet after the rain!!!! There was simply no stop at Bushmills!!!! I have no complaints about the coach driver, but I will never use this tour operator’s services again. A rating of one out of ten and a complete disappointment.

This was an amazing tour...

This was an amazing tour for a very low price. Troy was an incredible guide and overall it was just a great time. Enough time to get out and enjoy the stops without getting bored. Allows you to see a lot in a day if you’re only in Belfast for a short time and/or don’t rent a vehicle. Highly recommend!

A truly brilliant day! Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Belfast and wanting to see more than just the city. Troy was brilliant. Knowledgable about the subjects and funny. He took time to get to know and involve everyone. 10/10 would recommend

Giant Causeway with Viatour

The destination of the causeway is lovely, however the bus conditions and lunch arrangements were subpar. There was no bathroom facility in the bus, and relief stops along the was were too few. There was no wifi on board, and seats were very uncomfortable. No prior communication was given or posted regarding lunch arrangement. We were told about lunch arrangements only after the bus tour was well underway. We ended up at a remote restaurant with no choice of food other than a buffet with a prison-style cafeteria food choice and service. Food was nasty. The tour attendees Lori and driver Michael were very professional, knowedgeable, and curteous. Michael was a very skilled driver and knew the area well. Lori was very knowlegeable narrator and wit. They both made the trip pleasant. Overall, better communication should be provided in ad ance about exectations, so passengers can better prepare for their personal needs. I do not recommend this tour as is

Great

Mark was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, kind and funny. We enjoyed the tour. Food wasn’t great yet the last stop (giants causeway) was insane and we enjoyed it so much.

Should have booked the small group tour

The locations the tour visits are worth seeing but the tour was let down by a few things : 1. The bus seats were so awful, so claustrophobic and no leg room, I am 5 ft 8 and my knees were touching the seat in front. They have jammed way too many people onto the bus, we dreaded getting back on. The seats in front were broken and in permanent recline and making creaking noise the whole time. We were not permitted to move seats. 2. There was no one at the meet up point to greet people, we found the bus ourselves. Despite the tour scheduled to leave at 9am, it actually left at 8:45am. 3. The lunch place at the Hedges Hotel was awful slop, they don’t tell you how much it costs until you pay and it was $17 pounds each after your discount! You are held to ransom as there is nowhere else to eat it use the toilet. There wasn’t enough space in the restaurant for everyone to get a seat. 4. Two buses from the same company contained 50 people each and followed each other the whole day. We were on the second bus and despite arriving 5 mins or so after the first bus we always left at the same time. This meant we were shortchanged on time at each spot and were last to queue and access viewpoints etc which were already crowded by people from the first bus. The bus arrival and leaving times should be staggered so it’s fair. The time at the giants causeway and the first castle were generous but everything else felt rushed. The tour bus operator provided little recommendations about what to do at each location and just seemed tired of his job. In summary, I would not do this tour again.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you felt the locations visited were worth seeing, but we’re sorry that several aspects of the day affected your overall experience. Regarding the coach, our vehicles are designed to accommodate up to 53 passengers, and we appreciate that the available space can feel more restricted when the coach is operating at capacity. However, we’re sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the seats, particularly the seats that were permanently reclined and making noise. We will raise this with our transport team for inspection. In relation to the lunch stop, we’re sorry you were disappointed with the food and the seating available. There are food options available inside the Hedges Hotel, as well as at The Pantry located directly beside the hotel, so customers do have alternatives rather than being limited to one option. We appreciate, however, that this may not have been clear enough on the day, and we will look at how we communicate the available options to our guests. With regards to the two coaches, on particularly busy days we can operate multiple vehicles on the same tour. We understand your comments regarding the timings and how travelling behind another coach may have affected your experience at some of the stops. We will review the scheduling and coordination of multiple coaches to see where improvements can be made. Finally, we’re disappointed to hear that you felt the tour was rushed at some locations and that you would have liked more recommendations and information from the guide. We pride ourselves on providing an informative and enjoyable experience, so this is useful feedback for us to take back to the team. Thank you again for highlighting these points. We genuinely value feedback like this as it helps us identify where we can improve the experience for future guests.

Amazing!

Stuart was amazing! Very chatty and knowledgeable and funny! The tour was amazing - and this particular weekend all castles were free (suprized us all due to National park weekend!)

Amazing Tour and Outstanding Tour Guide

This was the best tour for our entire Amsterdam and British Isles journey and oddly enough the best price of all too. Troy was a wonderful guide and took us to the most wonderful lunch spot (Harry’s) - if you’ve done much traveling, particularly cruise excursions, you know they usually take you a place to eat that’s not very good and this was a total opposite! We so highly recommend this tour, but most especially if you can get Troy! We hope to see Troy and Ireland again someday (I still can’t believe how many people on that bus thought that grandmother was going to be waiting at that window LOL).

Operator response

Hi Many thanks for taking the time to review your experience with us. We are so glad you enjoyed the tour with Troy and I will ensure that he is aware of your positive review. Thank you.
