Description

Get an introduction to the genius of one of the world's most famous architects on a 2.5-hour walking tour of Antoni Gaudí’s Barcelona. Meet your guide on Plaça Reial, near the Rambla boulevard, the site of one of Gaudí's first commissions. Stroll over to Palau Güell to admire the impressive façade of the mansion he built for the industrial tycoon, Eusebi Güell. Next, take a short Metro ride to Passeig de Gràcia, and explore the façades of his 2 best-known houses: Casa Batlló and Casa Milà/La Pedrera. See some of Gaudi’s typical motifs, such as organic, undulating building styles, the use of mosaic tiles, and twisting balconies of wrought iron. Continue by Metro to Sagrada Familia. Learn all the intricacies of Gaudí’s basilica, which commenced in 1882 and left unfinished at the time of his death in 1926. The iconic monument is a masterclass in Gaudi’s radical and innovative work.

Excellent guided walking tour with knowledgeable and entertaining guides

I participated in two tours, the Gaudi tour with Noah in the morning and the Gothic quarter tour with Elena in the evening. Both were excellent. I did not really get Gaudi’s art before but through Noah’s in-depth knowledge I learned to appreciate it. And Elena had so many interesting stories to share, including book recommendations related to the places that she showed us. It was truly captivating!

Great experience!!!

Very interesting, our guide took the time to explain things to us and answer our questions. Full of little anecdotes throughout the tour, it was the best visit we did in Barcelona. We highly recommend Joshua for his great generosity and he is super friendly. As a bonus, a list created by him for practical info and restaurant discoveries, shopping, etc. thanks a lot!!!

Great Gaudi experience

We chose Runner Beans as the name jumped out when we searched, and booked in for a Gaudí walking tour in Barcelona. Lisa was at the meeting point early and kindly welcomed us along with others. The tour took in 4 Gaudi buildings, but Lisa’s knowledge was extensive about his life, works and Barcelona architectural history. Lisa was not only a guide for this tour, but also did everything she could to help us make the most of our stay in this gorgeous city. I would definitely recommend joining a Runner Beans tour.

Awesome guided tour with Lisa!

Lisa was a PHENOMENAL guide! She is an expatriate who knows Barcelona very well. The tour group was very small and it's possible that it could be cancelled. Instead, we got very personalized service, which was quite appreciated. Lisa explained Gaudi's roots and his work in Barcelona as well as that of his contemporaries. The tour covers a lot of ground so there is a bit of walking and even a metro ride, for which buying tickets and getting on-and-off was guided by Lisa. Given her non-Spanish roots, she can relate Barcelona to an international audience from different perspectives. The tour ends at Sagrada Familia where Lisa filled us on the construction and some of the external features. Definitely recommend!

Katharyn was wonderful! My sisters and I planned this tour for our mother’s 75th birthday. Our guide was accommodating, informative, and so thoughtful and insightful. We enjoyed every aspect of the tour and agreed it was our best day in Barcelona!

Great Guide

Lisa was wonderful and careful to make all feel included. She went over the scheduled 2 1/2 hours because she answered every question in detail. Lisa recommended a terrific restaurant near La Sagrada Família where we had a delicious lunch (Bendita). Thank you for everything.
