"""The first stop on the itinerary is the Arch of Charents - monument-viewpoint of the Biblical Mt.Ararat. Next, the Pagan Temple of Garni - only standing Hellenistic pagan temple in the Caucasus Region, dating back to the first century AD - built as a temple to the sun god Mihr (Mithra). Itinerary

Garni Temple
Admission not included50 min

Garni Temple (77 A.D.) – the first stop – is the only standing temple in the whole post-Soviet area. Garni gracefully stands on a high plateau overlooking the Azat river gorge. You will also see the roman bath house with the mysterious mosaic, made out of 30,000 pieces of natural stones, as well as the ruins of the royal palace of 3rd century A.D.

Garni Gorge
Admission not included40 min

Garni Gorge is a stunning natural attraction located in Armenia, near the village of Garni. It is also known as the "Symphony of Stones" due to its unique rock formations that create a beautiful symphony of colors and shapes. * The visit to the Symphony of Stones is subject to weather conditions.

The Monastery of Geghard
45 min

The next stop of the tour is the monastic complex of Geghard. Translated into English as “Monastery of the Holy Lance”, it refers to the lance with which Longinus pierced Jesus. Later brought to Armenia and kept in the Geghard monastery for 5 centuries. The most astonishing part is the virtue of the architect, who cut the church right into the solid rock whilst considering all the rules of Armenian architecture.

Great day out for family

We had a great experience. The tour guide was very informative and we had many opportunities to stop on the drive to take photos and try some fresh lavash bread. Geghard was very crowded and amenities are not great, so better to use bathroom before travelling there. Garni was also excellent as well as the gorge which looks like the organ pipes. Tour was not rushed at all.

Operator response

Your comments are truly appreciated and help us continue improving our service. We hope to welcome you again in Armenia for another memorable journey! Warm regards, The Yerani Travel Team

Thank you for an unforgettable trip, Edgar!

Edgar was an extraordinary host. We saw all shades of autumn on our way, an extremely beautiful view of Mount Ararat, a beautifully guided trip to the Garni Temple, the symphony of stones is a natural marvel that can't be told or written about, it must be witnessed with one's own eyes, and then finally visited Geghard, where Edgar showed us the symbolism and the history of the place. I must say, anyone taking the tour needs to take it with a guide, as you truly understand what each and every place represents and why it's something of value. In the end, it's the host that really made the trip special for us with his integrity, attitude, and hospitality. Thank you, Edgar! Looking forward to visiting and exploring all of Armenia with you!

Operator response

We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the stunning autumn scenery, Mount Ararat views, and the incredible sites of Garni, the Symphony of Stones, and Geghard. It’s great to know that having a knowledgeable guide enhanced your experience and helped bring the history and symbolism of each place to life. We truly appreciate your kind words and are thrilled that the tour left such a memorable impression!

Time travel: from pagan gods to Christian shrines

Took a tour to Garney and Gegard. It was an excellent two-in-one trip - an ideal itinerary that shows the full diversity of Armenian history: a mighty pagan past and a deep, sincere Christian faith. Definitely must-see for anyone coming to Armenia. Take a good guide – without him you will lose half the meaning and charm of these places. We were very lucky to have guide Anastasia - the trip was informative and very soulful.
