A Must do trip!

We were a group of 5. What a very pleasant experience, driver picked us up on time at our Istanbul Hotel, and drove us to Gallipoli Battlefield in a Mercedes Benz Van. There we mnet our guide Abdurrahim, who was very knowledgeable, polite and professional. He offered us all the time we wanted as he took us to several sites around the battlefield. The history lesson he gave us was excellent and helped us to understand all points of view about and after the battle. He took us to lunch at a local outdoor restaurant/cafe with excellent food. We all really hated to depart at the end of the day but we did need to get back to Istanbul. I would recommend this tour and the guide to everyone.

Thank you for your recommendation. We truly appreciate your support and hope to welcome you back on another adventure in Turkey in the future! Safe travels!

Once in a lifetime day trip

We recently had the most incredible day tour from Istanbul to Gallipoli, and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Our guide, Ömer Faruk, was absolutely outstanding — so knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history of the area. He gave us time to really take everything in at each site, which made the experience feel personal and meaningful rather than rushed. A real highlight was visiting Anzac Cove as Kiwis — a very moving and special moment — along with learning more about both the ANZAC and Turkish perspectives of the campaign. It added so much depth and understanding to the day. Our driver, Cengiz, was also excellent — safe, professional, and made the journey comfortable and easy from start to finish. A truly memorable and special experience we will never forget.

Operator response

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are truly delighted to hear that your day tour from Istanbul to Gallipoli was such a memorable experience. It means a great deal to know that Ömer Faruk’s knowledge, passion, and thoughtful guiding helped make the day feel so meaningful and unhurried. We are especially pleased that visiting Anzac Cove was such a special moment for you, and that the tour offered valuable insight into both the ANZAC and Turkish perspectives. We are also very glad to hear your kind words about Cengiz and the comfortable, safe journey he provided throughout the day. Thank you again for choosing Fez Travel. We greatly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again on another memorable journey in Turkey.

Immerse yourself in Gallipoli Historic Experience

We travelled with Omer Faruk - Tour Guide and Murat - Driver to Gallipoli for a day tour. Very well organised, with breakfast and lunch stops along the way. Omer's knowledge, historic information of what took place and when in this area was detailed, created a respectful and informative commentary throughout the site. We were impressed with the experience provided and felt in good hands to sit back and immerse ourselves in the journey. Marut was a skillful driver, we felt safe and well looked after. Highly recommend this tour and historic experience. Thank you

Exceptionally moving...a must do for Australian travellers

Visiting Gallipoli and learning first hand about the battles and the conditions faced by both the ANZACS and the Turks was Avery memorable and moving experience. Our guide, Burak was very well informed and often challenged our assumed knowledge of events. He was keen to share his perspective which was always supported by various photos and letters written by the commanding forces at the time.

As it was my husbands life time dream to visit Gallipoli and in particular Anzac Cove, it was made possible by a private tour with Omar. He was very pleasant and easy to talk to. Very informative and explained everything as if it was in a history book. We would not hesitate in recommending both the company and Omar for any of the tours offered. Peter and Eva Issa

A well paced and spaced Gallipoli Tour

The guide, Omer, was able to engender empathy and connection with the history & personalities involved in both sides of the Gallipoli conflict. Understanding the Turkish context especially adds to the importance of this strip of land and the sense of a homeland being defended - especially on visiting the 57th Regiment Turkish Memorial. The rise of Ataturk because of his leadership at Gallipoli led to modern secular Turkey. There was power of understanding through each place visited & with much space given for reflection or contemplation at: ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine, Johnston’s Jolly with trenches & tunnels for each side, the Beach Cemetery & Burnu Cemetery. Personally, we were so moved by standing in the trenches at The Nek, as portrayed in the Peter Weir film and sensing the futility of the whole campaign from perspective of the ANZACs involved and the realisation of costly strategic mistakes and poor communication. Such a horrible loss of life for no real purpose on both sides!

Operator response

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this deeply thoughtful reflection on your Gallipoli tour with us. We are truly moved to hear how Omer’s guiding helped you connect with the history and humanity on both sides of the Gallipoli campaign. It is a place that carries profound significance for many, and your description captures the layered emotions and the tragedy of this chapter in history with such sensitivity. It is truly a testament to Omer's guiding expertise that he was able to engender such a strong sense of empathy and connection with the history and personalities of both sides of the conflict. Understanding the Turkish context, particularly the defense of their homeland and the pivotal role of figures like Atatürk, is crucial to grasping the full significance of Gallipoli. We're pleased to know that visiting the 57th Regiment Turkish Memorial resonated so strongly with you, highlighting the powerful narrative of a nation defending its land and the subsequent rise of modern secular Turkey.Thank you again for choosing to travel with us and for allowing us to be part of your journey of remembrance and discovery. If you ever wish to explore more of Turkey’s rich history, we would be honored to welcome you again.

A most rewarding experience

A most rewarding experience. Omer’s leadership and knowledge of the individual battles and context for the entire fight set the scene for quiet exploration and reflection at the various stops. As an Australian, coming to understand the near same impact on nationhood that Gallipoli had on both my country and Turkey was an important revelation from the day. Murat’s driving and navigation was nearly worth the price of the tour on its own.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share such heartfelt feedback about your Gallipoli tour with Ömer and Murat. We’re truly moved to hear how meaningful the experience was for you, particularly in understanding the profound impact Gallipoli had on both Australian and Turkish history. It’s feedback like yours that reminds us why we do what we do, and we’re honored to have played a part in such a reflective and memorable experience for you. Should your travels bring you back to Turkey or elsewhere in our regions, we’d be thrilled to welcome you again. Until then, safe travels and warm wishes from all of us at Fez Travel! Thanks for choosing us.

A beautiful and moving experience

Very worthwhile trip with a great tour guide - Ballant - who was very knowledgeable and passionate about this sacred area. The area itself lies along stunning shores and the love that has gone onto honouring these men’s lives is very moving.

Information, Gallipoli sights great, journey very disappointing

Informtion and guide were very good, but the transport to and from the Gallipoli Pennisula were disappointing. The pick up was on time, but we waited 20 minutes for a no show. Lucky because it was already crowded with 13, cannot imagine how much more it would have been. But the main reason for lowering my score is it was a 4 hour journey in the heat of Turkiye summer and no water was provided.

Operator response

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us regarding your recent tour experience. We appreciate your comments and are glad to hear that guide met your expectations. We strive for our guides to be experienced and full of information. Regarding your concern about the provision of drinks during the tour, we'd like to clarify that our tour descriptions clearly outline what is included, and drinks are not listed among the inclusions. In terms of the break during the 4-hour journey, we schedule one break to accommodate the group's needs. However, delays due to unexpected circumstances such as waiting for a no-show participant can unfortunately occur, despite our best efforts to maintain punctuality. We understand that this can be frustrating and we appreciate your patience in such situations. Once again, we are grateful for your valuable feedback and for choosing to explore with us. We hope to welcome you on another tour with us in the future.
