**Closed-Toe shoes** - Closed-toe shoes are required, as the tour includes walking on uneven, rocky, and volcanic surfaces.
**Sunglasses, Hat, Sun Protection** - Sun protection is recommended, including sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen, as much of the tour takes place in areas with limited shade.
**Water** -Bring plenty of drinking water, as the tour includes walking and exploring outdoors in South Maui’s warm, sunny conditions
**Drinks:** - You can bring drinks but they must be in spill proof container. There is a Market store located right by the pick up spot and has a large variety of drinks.
**Sweater or Jacket** - Sometimes it gets chilly depending on the day, especially in the open air at higher speeds. Even though we are in the tropics, some people get chilly, so bringing a sweatshirt or jacket may make the ride more comfortable.

If you have any interest in geology, this is a fantastic tour. We learned about Haleakalā, volcanic rift zones, cinder cones, lava flows and how the Hawaiian Island chain was formed. Seeing the geology in front of you while hearing the explanation made it much easier to understand. The South Maui lava fields were incredible.

Family Trip
Our whole family really enjoyed this tour. There was something for everyone—beautiful beaches, black sand, lava fields, ocean views and Hawaiian history. The guide kept the kids interested while still giving the adults plenty of interesting information. The open-air vehicle was also a fun way to experience the coastline

Beautiful sites and great host
This was one of our favorite experiences on Maui. We had no idea how different the South Maui coastline was from the resort areas. The black sand beach and lava fields were spectacular, and learning about Haleakalā and how the Hawaiian Islands were formed made everything we were seeing much more meaningful.

Scenic and Educational
Absolutely loved this tour! The scenery along South Maui was incredible, especially seeing the contrast between Maluaka Beach and the black sand at Oneuli. Our guide did a great job explaining how the volcano created Maui and how the landscape continues to change. The lava fields were amazing to see up close. Highly recommend this tour!

Amazing Tour
The tour was amazing! We got to see some pretty cool spots that we would not have seen had we not done the tour. We learned so much about the culture as well as the history of the people and places. Joe was very knowledgeable and taught us so much!
