It is so quiet, relaxing, and overpowering and yet it has such a reverent feeling. Make sure to look up toward the heavens and notice the vaulted ceiling made to look like palm branches representing the original roof of the first church. Capital tour

The guide Kevin was great. Enjoyed the day. His headset needed a stronger signal as he kept breaking up if we got to far away from him. But it was a excellent tour

A full day well spent in Santo Domingo

A great way to see Santo Domingo if you're staying out in Punta Cana. It's a long day, but the itinerary is well paced and the stops are genuinely worth it. You get a real sense of the Zona Colonial and how much of the Americas' history started right there, not just a quick photo stop at each site. The chocolate tour at the end was a fun way to wrap up. One tip: wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring extra water. You're on your feet a lot and it gets hot. Our guide Darius made it. His energy was great from the moment we got on the bus, and he switches between Spanish and English so smoothly that everyone in the group stayed included, locals and first-time visitors alike. He knows the city deeply and tells its history as a story rather than a list of dates. I came away having learned a lot. Highly recommend.

Santo Domingo experience

Kevin was our tour guide, and he did a good job explaining each part of the tour in detail. However, there were a couple of areas that could have been better. My mother in law became dizzy and had to lie down on the bus floor to recover, and I was disappointed that the guide did not check on her or ask if there was anything he could do to help. I was also expecting the tour to include at least two museums in addition to the fortress, but unfortunately, we did not. Overall, the tour was fine and Kevin was knowledgeable, but I believe the experience could be improved, especially when it comes to showing concern for guests who may need assistance and providing a more complete itinerary.
