This was our first visit to Paris, so we wanted to make the most of our cruise stop. We understood that traveling from Le Havre meant there would be quite a bit of driving, but the organization made the day feel manageable. The guide was professional and spoke excellent English. We enjoyed hearing the stories behind some of the famous places instead of simply visiting them and moving on. There was also enough personal time for us to wander and enjoy the city together. The air-conditioned transportation was comfortable, especially after several hours of sightseeing. We also liked having the port pickup and return arranged rather than having to coordinate transportation ourselves. For a first visit, it gave us a nice introduction to Paris and left us with plenty of good memories.
I normally prefer exploring places independently, but because this was a cruise stop with limited time, I decided an organized excursion made more sense. That turned out to be a good decision. Everything from the port pickup to the return journey was straightforward. The guide knew the city well and gave useful explanations without talking constantly. I also appreciated having some time where I could simply explore and take photographs on my own. The biggest advantage was convenience. I didn't have to worry about navigating public transportation, finding the right departure, or calculating how much time I needed to get back to the ship. Paris is too large to properly experience in one day, of course, but this excursion gave me a worthwhile taste of the city during my cruise.

A total rip off. Also terrible customer service. Booked a tour for 10. Paid 220$ per person. These guys decided to fill up the bus with other people. You would think with the money paid it was a private tour. Also opted for a guided tour option that was 600$ more. The guide only joined in Paris for 3 hours, many attractions were on our own. Once I learned they aren't giving me a private tour, I wanted to downgrade for just transportation option, and never heard back from them again. One of the worst experiences with Viator. We travel a lot and use viator almost exclusively, and I never leave negstive reviews. These guys pissed me off.
We regret to hear about your disappointment, but since, as you say, you use Viator often, perhaps it is finally time to learn that private tours are clearly labelled as PRIVATE directly in the tour title and usually cost at least three times more than the standard shared group tour you booked while insisting it was private. As for the guide service, the tour description clearly states that it is not provided during the transfers from Le Havre, but only in Paris. To cut a long story short, when booking future activities through Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the published description, inclusions, and itinerary rather than on personal assumptions.
