Itinerary
Your tour begins with a prompt pickup in Le Havre, either directly from the cruise port or your hotel. Situated on the Normandy coast, Le Havre played a pivotal role during World War II, serving as a strategic location in the planning and execution of the D-Day landings. As you depart the city, your guide will share powerful stories about the region’s wartime significance and the heroic efforts of the Allied forces. This scenic drive sets the stage for the impactful history awaiting you at the D-Day Landing sites.
At La Cambe German War Cemetery, you'll gain a unique perspective on the events of D-Day. Set in peaceful surroundings, this solemn site honors the sacrifices made by soldiers on both sides of the conflict. The neatly arranged gravestones serve as a poignant reminder of the heavy toll of war, offering a moment of reflection and respect for those who lost their lives.
At Pointe du Hoc, you’ll stand at one of the most significant locations of the D-Day landings. This cliff, situated between Utah and Omaha Beach, was a key German defense position, with artillery and fortifications that posed a serious threat to the Allies. On June 6, 1944, U.S. Army Rangers courageously scaled these steep cliffs under heavy enemy fire to secure the area, an act of bravery crucial to the success of the Normandy invasion. Today, you can witness the remnants of battle, including bomb craters, damaged bunkers, and a memorial dedicated to the Rangers. Walking through this historic site, you’ll feel the gravity of the events that unfolded here.
Omaha Beach, known as "Bloody Omaha," is a key site in World War II history. It was one of the primary landing zones during the D-Day invasion of Normandy, where Allied forces faced fierce opposition in a battle that played a pivotal role in the success of the larger campaign. Today, the beach serves as a solemn reminder of the courage and sacrifice displayed by those who fought here. As you walk along the sands, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on the profound history and pay your respects. During this stop, you'll be provided a packed lunch for you to enjoy as you take in the significance of the site.
At the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, over 9,000 American soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Normandy invasion rest in peace. As you walk among the rows of white crosses and Stars of David, you’ll be moved by the scale of their sacrifice. Inside the Memorial Chapel, take a moment to reflect and honor the bravery that defined this sacred ground.
As your tour comes to an end, you'll head back to Le Havre, relaxing in the comfort of your transport while enjoying the scenic beauty of Normandy. Reflect on the significance of the D-Day Landing sites and the incredible courage of the American forces. You’ll return to port well before your ship’s departure, ensuring peace of mind. Your guide will offer a warm farewell, leaving you with lasting memories of this meaningful journey.

Excellent guide, very knowledgeable. Very moving experience, could not imagine the bravery of the soldiers who climbed those cliffs.
This is a long but very educational day. Our guide (Ash) made sure we were entertained all through the trip and was very attentive to our needs.
Maja was an exceptionally friendly and extremely knowledgeable guide throughout our tour. Her energy was infectious and kept everyone’s attention throughout the full day tour! Thank you Maja for such a humbling and incredible tour.
This trip would have failed if not for Maja! She is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. You can truly tell she enjoys her job! Also, as a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer, I appreciate the respect she gave to the sites we saw. Plus how she brought in the speeches from FDR and Churchill at the correct time made it better She almost made us forget the 95+ degree weather outside! As for the stops, I wish I had more time, but for that to happen would make it ab2-3 day trip! Never did I feel rushed. Thanks! Pete
We had a wonderful day on our Normandy tour. Our tour guide, Maja, was knowledgeable, cheerful, and entertaining as she told us interesting stories throughout the journey and kept the tour on track. Highly recommend!
Raymond was awesome. Plenty of time at each stop. Never felt rushed. Only issue was that we couldn’t get into the visitors center at the American Omaha Beach National Cemetery for some reason. Sign side it was temporarily closed, but that’s not a tour company issue. August is a busy time considering its European holiday month.
Amazing tour! Maja, our guide was exceptional. Engaging and very knowledgeable on all things Normandy and the leading events to WWII. She brought various perspectives in that I found highly valuable. Highly recommend and try and get Maja!
Very well and interesting excursion
Maja was a masterful tour guide today! Funny, engaging, knowledgeable about the history and the details of each location, overlook, building, etc. We learned a lot from Maja but also felt she was happy in what she was doing and it showed every minute. Great work!
