Fushimi Inari Shrine is so more than its famous tunnels of vermillion-red torii gates. Most people are satisfied by a scenic view of it. But this has a lot of stories to tell that will connect you to the Japan's history and culture and your guide will show you deeper. You will see a fascinating story attached to the origin of the shrine dedicated to the god of grains – that’s what “Inari” means – . This is also why you’ll see statues of the fox around the shrine. “Kitsune” or the fox is a servant to the god Inari.
Discover one of Kyoto’s most popular temples—Kiyomizu-dera Temple, registered as a World Heritage Site. It's famous for its vast balcony with a great panoramic view. Exploring the temple grounds with a guide means you’ll be able to learn about Japan’s history and culture as you explore the magnificent building.
Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka are two picturesque, gently sloping streets in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, celebrated for their traditional charm and historical ambiance. Lined with beautifully preserved wooden machiya (townhouses), these pedestrian-friendly lanes transport visitors to Japan’s past. They are dotted with quaint tea houses, artisan shops, and boutiques selling Kyoto specialties like ceramics, sweets, and souvenirs. The streets are especially enchanting during cherry blossom or autumn foliage seasons. Just steps away from iconic landmarks like Kiyomizu-dera Temple, these stone-paved paths offer a serene yet lively stroll, making them must-visit destinations for anyone seeking Kyoto's authentic cultural and historical essence.
Gion, Kyoto’s renowned geisha district, exudes timeless elegance and cultural heritage. Known for its beautifully preserved wooden machiya houses, this area is a hub of traditional tea houses, where geiko (Kyoto’s geisha) and maiko (apprentices) entertain guests with refined arts and performances. Hanami-koji Street and Shirakawa Canal are iconic spots, offering atmospheric strolls lined with lantern-lit establishments and willow trees. By day, visitors can explore shops selling Kyoto crafts and sweets, while evenings transform Gion into a magical, lantern-lit haven. A visit to Gion promises a glimpse into Japan’s rich cultural traditions and the enduring beauty of old Kyoto.

Wonderful tour with a fantastic guide! Friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. We had such a great time! Alice was wonderful!!
Shaye was the best host! We have done quite a few tours this trip, and we by far enjoyed this one the most. We hit so many of my sightseeing wish list locations on this tour and Shaye was a font of knowledge. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comprehensive tour of Kyoto if you have not been here before.
Laura was a great guide, adjusting to our many extra wishes and explaining things in a fun way. Also, she has a deep knowledge of Japanese history and culture! Thank you!
All of the shrines were amazing and Laura gave interesting explanations and told very investing stories about each shrine. The ramen at the end she showed us was also amazing! Would recommend!
My guide took me to so many cool places, even some that were super empty and allowed me to feel the real charm of Kyoto! Has a great time and we even had some tasty ramen.
Had an amazing time! Our guide knew SO MUCH about kyoto and japan we learned a bunch all while seeing amazing sights and even a couple of hidden areas! Highly reccommend to anyone staying one or two days in Kyoto.
This was our 1st tour in Japan and we were so lucky to have Paren as our guide + Riane. We played local for a day. We had yummy Okonomiyaki for lunch, learned how to get our train tickets and identify platforms! Best of all, Paren is a good photographer so our kyoto in a day was captured well. We are planning to see Osaka next time and hoping we end up with Paren and Riane as guides as well.
We loved our visit! Laura showed us the hidden side of Kyoto and it couldn't have been better, away from all the hustle and bustle of the more well-known places. Her tips on food and places to see were exceptional. It was nice to have that home comfort even though we were far away, and to have someone who knows so much about Japanese culture. We will definitely want to do another tour with Laura when we return. Thank you very much Laura!
It was great tour and we all enjoyed it. I highly recommende to try their Kyoto tour. We visited some of the must see spots with amazing guide.
