Few are aware that the Prosecco vine was already recognized in the Veneto region around 1750, with its origins in Monteberico on the Colli Berici, near Vicenza, rather than in the more renowned Valdobbiadene and Treviso provinces. Our outdoor excursion will lead us to the picturesque Colli Berici Region, just a 45-minute drive from Verona. Our journey begins at an acclaimed winery known for its organic Prosecco extra dry rosè, offering a serene setting amidst vineyards and a charming 16th-century estate.
Experience the unique Charmat method used in crafting their Prosecco, resulting in a vibrant perlage and a pure expression of 100% Prosecco grapes. Indulge in a delightful lunch overlooking the vineyards, featuring local delicacies such as fragrant extra virgin olive oil, regional cheeses, and seasonal delights. a main dish will be served, too!
We'll learn and try the difference between Prosecco method and Classic method (the Champenoise method). The key factor lies in the use of a secondary fermentation process. Instead of moving the wine into the ageing step of the process, somebody using the classic method place their blended wine in bottles with a touch of yeast and some extra sugar. The bottle is sealed with a temporary plug & stored horizontally in a wine cellar. The wine then undergoes a second fermentation. Only this time, the temporary plug prevents the carbon dioxide the process creates from being released. Those gases stay in the wine, resulting in the creation of the bubbles that Champagne is so famous for. All this facts and much more will be explained and comment and experience during our wine trip.

Fantastic tour in the area of Prosecco Colli Berici DOC with visit to a Venetian villa and tasting and at least 8 wines. The tour then continued in the historic center of Lonigo for another guided tasting followed by a visit to the medieval village of Soave. Perfect birthday present for my partner and a great way to spend the day east of Verona.

Our family toured on 4 July with Virginia and I wanted to say a big thank you for a spectacular day. We did a Prosecco wine tour with Virginia at the end of August 2021, and we really enjoyed our time with her. She picked us up at our hotel at 9:30am, she was on time and prompt, and then we were off to our first winery. Both of the wineries we went to, Fattori and La Pria, were great. We really enjoyed the tours with the owners and the insights provided by Virginia. The Proseccos and wines were delicious, and the food provided by the wineries was great too. We were able to go up the mountain to the owner’s house of one of the wineries for a great view. The 2nd winery had a barn with some animals that we got to see and pet. Seeing that I grew up on a farm, this was very exciting for me. We decided to order some wines from the 2 wineries and Virginia made the shipping process back to the states completely stress free. I highly recommend this company for your wine tour in Verona and hopefully will be back again soon for another tour. Thank you again Virginia!
Me and my boyfriend finally after a long time we could enjoy the Christmas gift. Both not wine lovers but curious to discover this world. Michela our guide was very good and the tour was beautiful. Our Food and Wine Walking Tour with Sara was fabulous! She was warm, personable, knowledgeable, and fun. She led us on a food-tasting experience at some of her favorite local stores, shops, and the oldest family-run restaurant in Verona. We had fabulous Veronese pastries, cheese, sopressa, bigoli pasta, and wines...such great wines! She also took us to see lots of historical and interesting sites, and often had an important or humorous anecdote to pass on. She's the kind of person who makes you feel like a friend, not a client. We highly recommend this food and wine walking tour!
