From Tunis/Hammamet/Sousse: 3 day desert adventure

This was an amazing adventure tour in a small group ( we were 3 solo traveller and 1 couple) and was exceeding all my expectations. It was superbly organised, still catered for individual wishes, and the same time taken us to surprising and exciting places and was leading to so many different experiences. Thanks to our outstanding guide Abel, who was very friendly, personable, extremely knowledgeable and clearly enthusiastic about showing us the different cultural and historic aspects of his country, as well as the incredible landscapes and living environments of his people. The desert adventure tour were my most memorable and impressive 3 days in Tunisia. Thank you so much.

We had a great tour with our tour guide Feti. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the culture and history. We first went to the Basins of Aghlabides which was unfortunately closed for renovation. We next went to the Zaouia of Sidi Sahabi which is a beautiful mosque with magnificent original architecture and mosaics. It also contains some well-preserved tombs which were amazing to see. We next went to the coliseum which was very impressive. Apparently it was the 3rd biggest after the 2 in Italy, but it was almost empty of tourists and so well preserved that we could explore almost the entire structure, above and below ground! I would warn against anyone who struggles with strep steps for this one. You can get great views and Feti gave us lots of amazing information on the ground floor, but the higher levels require climbing some steep steps. We then went to the Great Mosque of Kairouan. Feti gave us a great tour inside with some amazing history and cultural points throughout the courtyard area. We then had a quick walk through the souks. I would have liked a bit more time to explore the markets here and buy some local things. Nevertheless, Feti bought us some local treats such as sweets, bread and fried delicacies for everybody in the group to try. Our last stop was at El Jem Archaeological Museum. This museum was interesting for people with an interest in archaeology. I don't particularly find it interesting, but there was a reconstruction of a Roman villa which gave a good feeling for how the rich lived in ancient times. Again, Feti has a lot of very good information about this place and the history surrounding it. I would highly recommend this tour to people. Unfortunately I could not find the correct activity to select on TripAdvisor, but it was an option the GetYourGuide app.

Great time on the trip! We experienced a lot, enjoyed it to the fullest. The tour guide was also very skilled

The trip was nice, the experience in the desert amazing, the desert camp very well prepared (proper bathroom, showers, restaurant, etc). The only inconvenience is the organisation, the program planned was not completed and several points of the program was not visited

Overall, the trip was great. However, we skipped Bassins Aghlabited and Mosque Sidi Sahbi on the first day! On the third day, fearing we'd be skipped as well, I asked the guide beforehand and was able to visit them.

All I have go to say is wow! Incredible. One of the best trips I have ever taken. I was given Nasir as a guide and he was friendly and knowledgeable and thorough. The places we visited were breathtaking. Don't hesitate to book with these guys.

Had a wonderful experience with Depart Travel Services. Notified them a week prior to our trip that we wanted to focus on seeing Star Wars film sites. They adjusted our tour and gave us Chokri as a guide. Chokri was a pleasure to be on the road with and did a great job of not only showing us Star Wars sites, but allowing us to see the beautiful culture and land of Tunisia. I highly recommend using this agency for your trip. The only thing I would have changed is that I would have flown into Tozeur or Djerba instead of Tunis in order to eliminate some of the driving if you desire the Star Wars themed sites.

We loved this tour. We went as a couple; one of us was much more into “Star Wars” than the other, but both of us found plenty to like. You see a lot in five days! Our guide, Mohammed, was great and allowed us to customize the itinerary to what we were most interested in. He picked great restaurants as well; it was our first time in Tunisia, and we loved the food. We also liked that the tour provided WiFi hotspot access. We visited in early March and found the temperatures to be fine (even in the tent!). Lots of sun! One recommendation for “Star Wars” fans would be to watch the movies ahead of time and have an idea of the kinds of pictures you might want — there’s a lot to see and it goes by fast. In any case, we’d recommend this both for “Star Wars” fans and those who just want to see Tunisia!
