Tanger for the first time. Great trip!

Just finished our 2 day trip to Tanger. Khalid was wonderful and made us feel at ease and welcome. From meeting us at the ferry to taking us around the sights to a side trip to Assilah to getting us back for our return to Tarrifa, he was informative and completely amazing. Highly recommend him!

Amazing experience visiting Asilah and Tangier. Ben, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel like family. After the tour he invited us to his home to break the Ramadan fast. I would highly recommend booking your Tangier tours with Ben if you want an authentic Moroccan experience.

A week in Tangier (January) was a wonderful gift

As a solo, female traveller in my mid 60's, I felt completely safe at all times throughout Tangier during my week there. I did a day tour to Chefchouen (the Blue City) which was absolutely brilliant. The next day was a half day tour to Cap Spartal, Hercules Caves and a Camel Ride on the beach. Especially the Camel Ride which I chose the sunset time tour was a totally mind blowing experience!!(Both tours booked through 'Get my Guide') On the 3rd day, I did a Tajine cooking class with a local family. This I found on the Internet. A heartwarming afternoon learning the cooking methods of tajine and the tradition of Moroccan mint tea. The remaining days were spent browsing the Madina (I engaged a local guide....they are everywhere! Just negotiate the price beforehand) I visited the new town. Had services done....honestly the best gel nails ever! A massage...a session at a hammam. Lovely girly spoil. Another day I bought a big bag of tins of cat food from a local supermarket.... And delighted the very many stray cats (and myself). There are so many stray cats in Tangiers! Most are in reasonable condition as many locals do feed them. (My observation) And to make sure that the cultural requirements were tended to, visited tge Kasbah....a Cuban artists exhibition....the "Legation United States of America" - don't miss this! It's amazing! I stayed at the Hotel Mauritania in the Medina. A very cheap local hotel (that made this trip possible). I had a single room with my own bathroom. The room, whilst spartan, was clean. My inner hippy surfaced, and I soon made it 'my space' (I unpacked)! The white sheets and towels are clean - just not bright white. Every evening on returning, the room always smelt fresh. You get one towel for your whole stay. The shower has gorgeous hot water....but you have to wait about 5 x minutes before the hot water comes up. The hotel is directly round the corner from the nicest restaurant in the Medina...the Gran Cafe Central. I can truly say that I've experienced Tangier. I had a unique adventure every day. The weather (mid January) was between 17 and 21*C. Stunning blue skies. Only one morning when it rained, but wasn't windy or cold. Absolutely worth the visit!!

Discovery of the village of Asilah

Thanks to Ben for this beautiful discovery of Asia, we had an excellent day and will keep a great memory. Ben introduced us to this very authentic little fishing village and advised us an excellent fish restaurant. Thanks to his very good French, his knowledge of the city and his humor, we had a very good day. Bravo also for his patience:-) A very nice discovery thanks to Ben. Excursion I recommend to get out of the big cities and discover a more picturesque Morocco.

We had a great day with Ben. The tour of Asilah was quite fun and informative. I asked Ben that he include a visit to the markets and graciously agreed even though it was not included. I would have preferred the traditional souk but my friends didn’t know the difference and they enjoyed shopping. Ben recommended to us an authentic meal although a bit touristy pero it didn’t matter, we were tourists. Thanks , Ben , for an unforgettable day. We’ll see you in the future.

Excellent Tour Guide and Service

Ben is a wonderful guide that speaks 5 languages and is both friendly and humorous. Having grown up in Tangier, he has fantastic knowledge both of the city and its history. He also seems to know everyone as we walked around which helps with negotiating purchases and perhaps even lines of entry. WHile we had a specific trip agenda, Ben was willing to hear our interests and detour along the way. His family’s background in international travel allow him to relate things in Tangier to experiences outside of Morocco. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him in Tangier and wished he would join us in Casablanca…the next stop on our cruise. Ben did the next best thing, he put us in touch with someone that organized a tour the next day there.
