Plitvice are known as a natural phenomenon because they keep changing through sedimentation of calcium carbonate and create special kinds of algae and moss, tufa or travertine which has been deposited and is still deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is ongoing today, just as it always has, new travertine barriers, curtains, stalactites, channels, and cascades are built as the existing ones keep changing. So it doesn’t matter if you have visited the lakes before, they probably look different now, so you can visit them again and never be bored. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which remains of prehistoric settlements have been found.

- The tour includes prox. 5km of walking on uneven surfaces -please wear comfortable walking shoes (we visit highlights of both, the Lower Lakes and the Upper Lakes).
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Not recommended for participants with walking disabilities
- Depending on the weather conditions some parts of the park may be restricted
- Here are few items you may need to make your time on the excursion the best of all: closed comfortable shoes (sneakers), sportswear, In case of rain raincoat or an umbrella. After summer time we recommend to bring also a warm sweater or jacket.

The meeting point was literally 100m from where we were staying. Besides the beauty of the Plitvice Lakes, Lovro aka Larry was the best tour guide we could ask for. His humour, patience, overall attitude was what made the tour better. The trip overall was convenient and comfortable.
This was such an amazing tour! The waterfalls and lakes at Plitvice are absolutely STUNNING with crystal blue water and nature all around. Our guide Lovro was excellent as well! Very funny and made the bus ride not feel so long with interesting facts & recommendations. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience and a great walk scenic walk! Definitely not strenuous as you can take your time, lots of photos to be taken. Antonia was our tour guide and gave us some great information in perfect story form. She is a great person and also gave great directions to those on the unguided tour! However, she made it so much better! I will highly recommend this experience to anyone who will listen.

The park is incredible! Everything went great. But on the other hand our guide Lorenzo was just the worst! He knew so many fun facts about the park, had witty sarcastic comments, made sure we didn’t get lost at the zigzag, and gave us a bunch of great recommendations! No but really, he was fantastic, we were lucky to have been part of the group! I highly recommend 1000%!
