The tour started a little unorganized as we arrived all on different busses at Key Tour’s office (on a narrow, minimal parking street), and a few people did not arrive on time. It appeared that the supervisor gave our guide a “talking to”and he seemed frazzled until we finally departed! Our guide studied archeology and had worked for over 3 years. I believe his name was Costa???! He was EXCELLENT!!! He always had a very good answer for all of the questions and knew so much!! Three ladies in the tour struggled with the stairs and uneven ground. It is not a tour for people with minimal mobility! Over 150 stairs up and marble stairs and rocks are up at the Acropolis! Also, good footwear is highly recommended! No sandals! The Acropolis and Pentathlon are amazing! We were signed up for the museum as well, but somehow that was mixed up and we ended up paying again as we opted in to the tour as Costa was so amazing! (I am going to contact Key Tours!). The museum is gorgeous!!!!!! There is so much to see!! Highly recommended!! The headphones are so nice to have as you can hear your tour guide from far away. So great!!!
Absolute Terrible Experience, Avoid at All Costs I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Key tours company, and I strongly urge others not to book any tours with them. On 17th March, I booked a Full-Day Tour with this company. There was a taxi strike in Athens, and as a first-time traveler to Greece, I had no prior knowledge of this situation. My hotel was quite far from the meeting point. I immediately called the tour company and explained my situation. I was begging them to wait a few minutes while I tried to find a way to get there. The woman I spoke to promised me they would wait. With no taxis available, I had no choice but to walk 2 km on foot to reach the meeting point. When I finally arrived, they told me that the bus had already left without me. To make matters worse, they marked me as a “no show” and refused to give any refund (I paid GBP 73), claiming it was entirely my responsibility. This is completely unacceptable, especially after they explicitly told me they would wait. This company clearly does not care about customers or basic human consideration. They only care about taking your money and offering zero support when things go wrong. Avoid this company at all costs. Do not waste your money or risk ruining your trip.
Dear Rusheni, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your experience with your scheduled tour from Athens. We are truly sorry to read how disappointed you felt and understand that the circumstances on the day, particularly the taxi strike, created a stressful situation, especially as a first-time visitor to Greece. At the same time, we would like to clarify a few important points for transparency. Our tours operate on strict schedules, as they involve multiple participants, pre-arranged entrance times, and coordinated logistics across several sites. On the day of your tour, the departure was already delayed beyond the scheduled time as a gesture of consideration. Unfortunately, extending the delay further would have significantly impacted the experience of all other guests. While we understand that the taxi strike posed challenges, alternative means of transportation, such as metro and bus services, were still operating. As with most organized tours worldwide, guests are responsible for ensuring timely arrival at the designated meeting point, allowing for unforeseen disruptions in a major city. Regarding communication, we regret if there was any misunderstanding during your call with our team. Our intention is always to assist; however, we are not able to guarantee extended waiting times, as this depends on operational constraints. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Although we are unable to offer a different resolution, we sincerely wish you a pleasant continuation of your trip. Kind regards, Keytours Team
The tour itself was good, walking from Key Tours office. But we did not expect to be shuttled from the port to the tour office to wait for others to join. The steps ate slippery and uneven. Be careful, lots of renovations/ restoration going on, but lots to see! Overall, disappointed that we spent lots of our precious port time waiting in the office or on a bus back
Probably the worst most unprofessional tour company I’ve ever encountered. The tour was set to start at 9:00 am. No one was waiting for us at the cruise terminal and when we exited the ship we realized the meeting point was a half hour away even though the tour stated that they would pick us up at the cruise terminal. After two long distance phone calls ( we have American phone plans) where they asked me to send them an email explaining what my problem was they told us they would send someone. No one greeted us or even said good morning. The driver of the van took us into Athens where we waited an hour for the tour to start. The guide was unshaven, unclean and wearing stained clothes, I asked him to slow down as he was talking so fast and rushing the explanation of the acropolis. The tour lasted all of an hour and 30 minutes. The guide then proceeded to collect our audio equipment and left us in the middle of the acropolis and left us to return by ourselves to the tour agency. We finished at 11:34 am. This was supposed to be a five and a half hour tour and all we got was waiting and an hour and a half of the Parthenon. We did not see the whole thing just the Parthenon and the ruins leading up to it. We did not get a full tour as the sanctuary of Artemis, the Erechtheion,, the porch of the Caryathids, the Propylaea, Agrippa, the Agora, nothing was included in the “tour” .
Dear Paola, We are truly sorry to read your comments, but we must respectfully clarify that your review does not accurately reflect the actual experience provided. Our records confirm that the driver was at Piraeus Port Terminal A before the scheduled pickup time of 9:00 AM, exactly at the meeting point stated in your booking confirmation, less than a two-minute walk from your cruise ship. Our team also contacted you promptly to assist, and your transfer to Athens departed on time. As clearly described in the tour details, the guided walking portion begins at 10:00 AM, after the drive from the port, which is part of the total tour duration. Regarding your remarks about the guide and the sites visited, we must firmly defend our staff. All our guides are licensed professionals with many years of experience, known for their historical expertise and professionalism. The guide that day conducted the full walking tour of the Acropolis, which naturally includes all major monuments on the hill; the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion with the Porch of the Caryatids, the statue of Agrippa, and finally the Parthenon at the top. These are all physically located along the same path; it is not possible to reach the Parthenon without passing and explaining them. We always strive to deliver the tour exactly as described, and that was fully the case here. While we regret that the experience did not meet your personal expectations, the service you received was timely, complete, and consistent with the advertised itinerary and professional standards. Warm regards, Margarita Karavasileiadi
Although we booked tickets for the Acropolis, we were not allowed to enter the site. The guards at the entrance told us that the Keytour offices were not far and that we should go there for assistance. When we arrived at the offices, we were completely ignored and treated very aggressively. In the end, we were left without tickets and without a refund. Strongly recommend staying away
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We have checked our records and can confirm that you have not booked the tour mentioned here. It appears there has been some confusion and the review was posted under the wrong experience. We would greatly appreciate it if you could remove it from this listing.
The Acropolis and Museum tour was unforgettable! Our tour guide Micheal G was the most enthused, passionate guide I've ever experienced!! I carry OPA home with me!! I strongly recommend tour guide Micheal G ! He loves his job and his people!!

We were advised to meet at 7.25am and waited an hour before the excursion began. They seemed highly disorganised. Nobody contacted us prior about collecting us from our hotel. It took 30 minutes getting lost along the way. The tour was fine, but I felt the tour guide mostly highlighted information he was passionate about in the museum.
Thank you for your feedback. It seems there may have been some confusion regarding your booking. Kindly note that our tour includes transfers only from Piraeus Port at 9:00 AM and does not offer hotel pick-up. We also recommend that guests arrive no more than 15 minutes early to avoid extended waiting times. Based on your description, it’s possible that your reservation was with a different tour operator. Regardless, we hope you had a wonderful time in Athens and enjoyed your visit!
Fantastic tour of the acropolis Scenic beauty, beautiful architecture, and bewilderment on how all these beautiful things got built so long ago our wonderful guide Mietra (sp( ✨ gave us a history and a narrative that I’ve never heard before . Her knowledge of an ancient Greece was phenomenal all of us in our group which was 12 really enjoyed it. It was a wonderful experience for two hours going through all the various theaters, monuments, temples, etc.. We did not have time to do the museum, but I would certainly would love to do that next trip

We're especially happy to hear that your guide made the experience so memorable with her deep knowledge and captivating storytelling. Kind Regards, Margarita Karavasileiadi
