From Naples to Vesuvius Bus, Ticket and Smart Audio Guide

Basically a minibus pick up and drop off with an access ticket. We felt that it was a little rushed. There was only time to walk up, take a few photos then back.

Perfect for a solo traveler to get a small bus right to the hiking/entrance gate near the top of Vesuvius. Couple hours was perfect amount to take your time to the top enjoy the views, drink an expensive cup, and be picked up again for direct ride back to the central train station. Not a guided tour which was fine by me. Audio guide had some interesting commentary I did not know which was nice.

Was a well organised experience that gave us lots of freedom to explore mt vesuvius. The staff let us know early about changes to the time. The bus was comfortable for the drive. We had over 2 hours to climb up and down. The audio guide was self paced which we liked.

Clear instructions on meeting points and timings. Plenty of time to get up and down (we actually had 20 mins to spare). Recommend shoes with good grip as the way down can be a bit slippery on the gravel! Good value for money, the bus takes you right to the entrance. Fantastic views!

This was a great experience to make transportation easy! It was very straightforward and the bus was comfortable. Once we arrived it was self-guided and there were multiple times we could leave if you wanted to stay longer.

Tour was great and the weather was fantastic. Ettore, our guide, did a good job of explaining how to get the self guided app on your phone and working as well as the necessary instructions. The bus stops about a little over a mile from the rim of Mt Vesivius. From there it is a walk up a steep dirt road up to the rim. The walking portion is self done without a personal guide but the app explains everything well. There a couple shops at the top and the trail circles quite a way around the rim. Awesome views. You have two hours to hike up to the top and make your way back down to the bus. We picked the 8 hour tour that also visited Herculalum. Michele was the in person guide for this portion of the tour. Very knowledgeable and funny. Amazing place to see.

A simple bus shuttle. Neither more nor less. Very little air conditioning...Leaves enough time to see what there is to see. NB: good handling of a date change issue. (Supposedly not communicated by viator)

Carmen was very good; she accompanied us on this splendid excursion, enhanced by an excellent guide who made us appreciate the archaeological site of Pompeii

Visiting the Vesuv is well worth the trip. However, in terms of organisation, this trip was not the best. We booked the 9am trip in order to avoid the worst heat. The afternoon before the trip we were told it was moved to 10am, when the cancellation period was already over. They gave us the option to depart with an earlier bus and return with the original bus but we didn’t want to spend 3 hours there instead of two (given the heat also) so we stayed with the changed timetable. The guide did not provide any information during the bus trip or upon arriving besides what time the bus would pick us up again.

The tour is really just a transfer service that takes you a little closer to the summit than you can otherwise get. The audio guide provided isn’t that engaging. The views are incredible and the volcano itself is definitely worth the trip. Don't expect much 'added value' from the tour operator, besides a good taxi ride. We also had our departure time changed at very late notice which kind of threw off our other plans for the day.
