Long day—beautiful beach and scenic tour of mountain side and amazing navigating by Marcos and wonderful tour commentary from Anastasia on the excursion. Perhaps not doing the Elos Village stop as not significant/nor space for tour group to rest if they were not dining. Morning stop was good bc good space for bathrooms and folks could get coffee and breakfast if needed and nice sample of local honey and wine. Could have saved that hour in afternoon stop and advised folks to ensure they had lunch at Elafonisi Beach. Should be very strict and about return time to tourists to return to bus bc impacted tourists who can’t tell time impact rest of tourists who can!
The guide was very attentive to make sure everyone boarded on time and was very kind in dealing with passengers and had some interesting information to share about Crete. Snags were the long trek to the beach and that all the chaise lounges and umbrellas were already in use by the time we arrived. This is not the tour bus’s fault but it meant almost all our group had to lie on the sand. There was an hour long stop on the way back for a self pay lunch which I didn’t really need.
Not ideal for people with walking difficulties; walk to the beach from car park, unsheltered. Not enough sunbeds on beach, it was overcrowded sadly. Head left towards the water sports and take shelter under a tree. Take your own umbrella, tent or chairs. Very little shade. Lovely guide and driver, nice journey
From the arrival we are directed to the first parking without leaving us the choice and over 5€ while the next ones that are closer to the beaches are 3€. Far too many people on the beaches while we are in June it spoils the beauty of the place.
The trip was listed as lasting about 8 hours but the pickups/drop-offs added an additional hour to either end, making the bus time longer than the time at our destination. The guide was friendly and shared some interesting information along the way, and we really enjoyed the stop we made on the way to the beach.
Excellent tour guide who gave insight into Greek history and olive oil making plus other general interest and traditions in Crete. Coach driver superb at driving very tight areas and tight bends. Short stop at Ag. Sofia cave to continue for full 4 hours on beach. Return journey one hour with choice to eat at restaurant recommended (not Inc in price). Good day trip to include in holiday.
