One of our most popular tours: Luxemburg is certainly a modern and vibrant city with a rich history and impressive ancient and contemporary architecture. In the old part of Luxembourg, our guide will take you to the cathedral, the Palace of the Grand Duke and the Place d’Armes. In downtown Luxembourg you will enjoy a spectacular view of the Kirchberg district, home to several European institutions. In the valley, you will be able to see a trail of the Casemates, the abbey of Neumünster, the city walls and the picturesque sites along the river Alzette. After some free time in the city, you will explore the quaint town of Dinant, with its fifteenth century collegial church and its impressive citadel. Dinant’s name originates from the Celtic “Divo Nanto”, which means “Sacred Valley”. This little town is dramatically perched on the narrow banks of the River MeuseI. This is the cradle of the Leffe beer and the birth place of Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone.
From the operator’s live schedule on Viator, checked Oct 15.
Embark on a sightseeing tour of the city with your guide.
You'll pass by the Grand Ducal Palace, the official residence of the grand duke of Luxembourg, and where he performs most of his duties as head of state of the Grand Duchy. Old part of Renaissance (1572), middle part (1741) of Baroque and Renaissance styles and right the Chamber of Deputies (1858).
You'll visit this former Jesuit church of the 17th century in Baroque and Renaissance style with Gothic elements. To the left of the nave, a forum dedicated to the Grand Ducal family. The College of Jesuits adjacent to the cathedral became National Library.
You'll visit Neumünster Abbey, a public meeting place and cultural centre, located in the Grund district of Luxembourg City in southern Luxembourg. After the original Benedictine abbey on the Altmünster Plateau had been destroyed in 1542, the monks built a new abbey or "Neumünster" in 1606 in the Grund.
The Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge in red painted steel (1966) crosses the Alzette. Left the Municipal Theater (1964) and right Monument Schuman (Father of Europe).
The European Center Kirchberg 1966 with its 23 floors is the seat of the European Parliament. The Schuman Center headquarters of the Council of Ministers.
On the way back from Luxembourg to Brussels, you'll visit Dinant on the banks of the Meuse River Dinant gave its name to the brassware: copper objects. Specialty: biscuits or biscuits with honey.
Lift your gaze towards the Citadelle and the onion-domed tower of the Collegiate church, all highlighted by the ribbon of houses and shops running alongside the river.
Dinant is the birthplace of Adolphe Sax (1814) inventor of the saxophone, and on your trip you'll visit the historical museum dedicated to him.

Loved the trip. Excellent locations and well planned and guided by Arianne. Driven by Sadat. Would definitely recommend to others. Luxembourg and Dinant are must worth for Belgium trip. On time drop and pickup and well communicated.
Fabulous experience must do whilst in Brussels
Dinant was a nice surprise and the WW1 history of what happened was very disturbing. This wasn't mentioned in detail by the guide so I suggest you Google it first. Luxembourg is scenically spectacular. The guide was excellent and kept the tour perfectly on time.
Long day but we got to see and hear a lot about Luxembourg and Dinant. Julianna was very knowledgeable and was easy to understand. Since the bus ride is long on the first leg, do on a day when you need a little extra rest.
Long day but a wonderful experience! Each site had its own charm and we really enjoyed Luxembourg! The food was amazing! Juliana was a knowledgeable guide!
It was ok. Long drive , boring town , I do t really recommend it
Bus and tour guide was great, as was the schedule, which was a mix of walking tours and time on your own. The tour was conducted in both English and Spanish though - I felt it was doing a disservice to both by offering two languages in the tour.
Good tour with enough information and free time. Keep in mind this is a larger tour group (30+). Appropriate time spent at each location and good pace.
Fantastic trip and I think most of it is down to the amazing guide we had Stephan! Day trip starts outside the national bank in Brussels (easy to find just round the caorner from the cathedral - was raining the whole day so bring a rain coat or brolly if it’s likely to rain). You are greeted by your guide (ours was just for English speaking but reading some other reviews it might be a bit- lingual tour if it’s not fully booked). For those English people who have no clue - nope you do not need your passport but mine had a nice little trip to Luxembourg! Spacious coach not cramped up like some of them can be. Given instructions and a brief run through of what the day entails on the bus then the day began - Stephan throughout the day gives amazing commentary on the history of Brussels, Dinant and Luxembourg, highlights points of interest, gives history behind anything and everything you can think of. Such a wonderful friendly knowledgeable person. About an hour coach journey to Dinant which is a cute little town steeped in history (I started writing this but then got sidetracked so it’s been sat in my pending for nearly a year but the trip was amazing so I’m still posting it ) Luxembourg was also beautiful and we had fantastic information given to us the whole way It was a long trip but definitely worth it
