Forest Night Tour in Monteverde/Guide & Entrace fee.

We made the reservation through Viator and it gave us a spot for the night tour at the Curi Cancha Reserve in Monteverde. Without any reason or justification, and upon arriving in person, they pointed out to us that there was no reservation under our name and that the guide assigned to us via WhatsApp had not made any reservation for us. They indicated to us that Viator is a company that must book the spots directly with Curi Cancha. In the end, we did the night tour at another reserve: The Monteverde Refuge, which turned out to be very unedifying. The first is a restricted and closed reserve and the second is a private estate (that day they were doing motocross). The visit was very lacking in animal sightings and with a large multitude of groups in the same activity. If you have the opportunity, book directly with the Curi Cancha ownership and not with intermediary companies. You will save yourselves surprises. The guide was professional but the place did not offer much more.

We went on a tour of the cloud Forest with Samuel Arguedes. No clouds that morning but a great experience with a knowledgeable and passionate about nature and biodiversity guide. The guides are invaluable and see things you would never spot on your own and they know a lot of detail about the birds and wildlife you will encounter. It was a privilege to have shared this experience with Samuel and I would recommend that you ask for him particularly. We were due to do a night tour but with the weather so bad, Samuel was honest enough to say it wouldn't be worth it and was not about to take our money for the sake of it. He is an honourable gentleman.

Jason’s night tour was well worth it! He found animals that we never would have seen on our own. He also taught us about the plants and animals in the reserve.

What a great tour. We saw many cool animals in this beautiful area. Olingo, tarantulas, pit vipers, butterflies, toucans, frogs, and more. Got photos that look almost staged but it was real.

Excellent experience through Jason....we saw reptiles, arachnids (tarantulas), insects, birds, scorpions, bats, fireflies, worms and much more on a wonderful night walk with excellent attitude from our guide.

Dauner was amazing! Great eye/nose/ears for wildlife that made for an unforgettable experience. We saw tarantulas, coati, porcupines, and even a kinkajou! So awesome!

Wildlife is never a guarantee, so I went into this experience hoping for a nice night walk. But my expectations were exceeded! Jason was such a cool dude with a great personality and so much knowledge about the plant life and wildlife. We had a great time and saw some amazing wildlife including a tinamou, moths, cockroach, scorpion, vipers, frogs, tarantula, clickbeatle, lightning bugs, AND OUR VERY FIRST SLOTH IN THE WILD!!!! Great day for wildlife.

We saw a sloth, a scorpion, a sleeping toucan, a possum high up in the tree .: The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. This tour did not have as many animal sightings as i thought would be there .. The guide mentioned this tour is less popular, so it is more peaceful

Very nice experience. We walked in the forest in the night. The ways were really safe and the guide provide flashlights. We saw some snakes, birds, and others animals.
