Description

Most visitors stay at the same tourist sites, but rarely get to experience real life as a local…so, we've designed a journey to Iztapalapa, an area that reflects the daily lives of 2 million people, that otherwise, you would never hear about. This urban district is the largest in the city, full of culture, street food, traditions, and history that comes as far from the Aztecs. What will we do? The adventure starts Downtown, where we’ll take the subway towards the suburbs. Then we’ll visit a local museum to learn the best facts about Iztapalapa, their traditions, and their history. Then, the crown jewels: We’ll fly like birds in the largest cable car in the world for a stunning and colorful view of the street art and the immensity of the valley. In between, we’ll visit a local market and an amazing airplane converted into a cultural venue. We’ll come back home by metro, finishing with a pre-hispanic drink in a bar.

Gracias Eli!

As a public transit enthusiast, I loved learning about and experiencing the many transit options that CDMX has to offer. Eli was fantastic and descriptive in how the city utilizes their transit and the history of the city, as well! This tour was incredibly well rounded and provided a look into how locals move about and live in CDMX. I highly recommend this tour!!

Authentic and Unique Cultural Tour

Amazing experience! It was lovely to see the city from a different point of view. Going in the morning helped reduce crowds and made the experience almost relaxing. Elizabeth was an amazing guide who combined her cultural and historical expertise with a friendly and welcoming attitude. At the end of the experience, we felt we had a more authentic and diverse understanding of the city, and really appreciated the opportunity to leave the touristic areas and be guided through new neighborhoods. This tour is great for anyone wanting to learn more about the cultural history in Mexico City and leave the tourist bubble.

Unforgettable CDMX Tour

Fernando was an outstanding guide for our Cablebús tour through Iztapalapa. From the first metro ride, he brought local history to life with stories no guidebook could match. The stop at Utopia (a library built inside a repurposed airplane) was a total surprise and a highlight of our whole trip. Lunch at a guisado spot he picked was simple and delicious, and the cable car ride itself offered incredible views. But really, it was Fernando’s warmth, patience, and deep knowledge that made the day unforgettable. Five stars, without hesitation. Highly recommend Fernando and Warrior Experiences.

A glimpse of the real Mexico City

Fabulous tour with Fernando, he explained the public transport system and expertly guided us to a part of Mexico city we would not normally visit. Explained the history of the city from before colonial times and pointed out beautiful murals along the whole tour. Would highly recommend if you want to experience the real Mexico City

Wonderful Tour that lets you see a side of Mexico City from a Local’s viewpoint with food and art and city views

This tour is adventurous, designed for and very rewarding for those who want a non-tourist experience of Mexico City. Fernando will show you how to navigate the Metro system like a local, and introduce you to the wonderful working class neighborhood of Iztapalapa, where your group will likely be the only tourists. There will be wonderful mural art to see on the ground and from the terrific cable car ride, a surprising, unique community center visit, a good Mercado visit and most importantly a lot of terrific information from Fernando. This tour is not for a Mexico City first-timer but for those seeking deeper, non traditional tourist experiences and understanding of daily life and culture.

A major highlight of our trip!

This story was a major highlight on our trip to Mexico City. You should come rested and prepared, for a lot of information and a lot of fun! Fernando is incredibly knowledgeable, kind and has designed this tour to feel authentic instead of voyeuristic. If you want to learn about the city’s history, demography, public transport system and daily rituals, this is the tour for you. And of course, the views from the cablecar are unmatched!

Awesome experience made better by Fernando

Hands down the best tour of our trip! Our host, Fernando, was engaging, perfectly paced, and incredibly knowledgeable. He explained the city's different transit systems and showed us how easy they are to navigate, thanks to the brilliant color-coding and unique pictorial icons for every stop name. We loved walking through a local neighborhood away from the usual crowds, but the Cablebús ride was the ultimate highlight. Floating through stations like Quetzalcóatl and Iztapalapa felt like traveling through a living piece of Mesoamerican heritage. Fernando told us to tune into the sounds of daily life below, and it was amazing to hear people selling tamales and kids playing while looking down at the fantastic murals on the rooftops. Fernando’s academic background added so much depth as he explained the history and culture behind the art. Highly recommend!

Elizabeth - Best Tour Guide in CDMX!

Elizabeth is hands down the best tour guide I've ever had! she is a great storyteller with such enthusiasm and gusto. She provided a very personal experience with her vast knowledge of the city, it's murals, indigenous and modern culture throughout our tour. I cannot say enough good things about her. She will not disappoint you whatsoever. Just THE BEST!
