Beat the crowds and book the First Access tour for the Acropolis - it is worth it! This tour allows you to view the acropolis before the hoards arrive - making it that more enjoyable. Dimitri our guide was informative and provided the right balance of lecture, free time while moving us through the acropolis complex. I would absolutely recommend this tour group and first access to anyone wanting to see and learn about the acropolis!
This was a great time to visit the Acropolis. Before crowds and before the heat of the day. I think the time length was great too, as it allowed us to plan afternoon activities as well. Nicely done!
Just the right timing and amount if information! Our guide gave us time to explore and take pictures before the crowds descended on the Parthenon. We had two older adults and they could keep up. Note, there a re stairs, some slippery marble, and unpaved descend.
This was the best way to see acropolis- before it gets too hot and too crowded. Guide was informative. My husband and 11 year old were really engaged. Our 7 year old was bored so I would skip the guided part if you have littles and explore on your own.
Dear Giuseppina, Thank you for sharing such an honest and practical perspective! Getting up there early to beat both the midday heat and the heavy crowds is definitely the secret to enjoying the Acropolis at its best. We love that your husband and 11-year-old were so engaged in the history! You make a wonderful point about younger travelers—seven can be a tough age for listening to detailed historical context when there's so much open space they just want to explore at their own pace. Your feedback is super helpful for families planning their visit! Thank you again for joining us, and we hope the rest of your family adventure in Greece was incredible! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
What a GREAT way to see the Acropolis and Parthenon, and so much more! Doing the early tour was awesome because we were able to enjoy a lot without the swarming crowds. Our tour guide was so kind, enthusiastic, and knowledgable, and I LOVED that we had headsets so we could hear her without being right next to her. I HIGHLY recommend this experience!
Dear Sarah, Beating the morning rush at the Acropolis is pure magic! Being able to soak in those iconic marble views without feeling crowded makes all the difference in the world. We’re excited to hear how much you appreciated the convenience of the headsets—it’s designed to let you wander, take in the atmosphere, and snap photos without missing a single beat of your guide's stories. Thank you so much for the enthusiastic recommendation and for spending such a wonderful morning with us! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
Get there early. This team has it all organized. You use earbuds that help you hear the tour guide. Without it I would not have known what I was looking at. It was great!
Dear Trona, Thank you for leaving us such a great review! We feel rewarded for your words on how the whisper audio headsets made such a difference in your experience! Ensuring you can clearly hear every detail of the history and story behind the monuments—even while keeping your distance from crowds—is a top priority for us, and it's wonderful to hear that the organization paid off. Thank you for choosing to explore the Acropolis with us! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team

Taking the first tour of the day really is the secret to a comfortable visit with cooler temps and fewer crowds! Thank you for joining us! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
Get there on time! 7:45am. Use the bathroom before you enter. Entry starts at 8 but the company arrives very early and secures the first spot in line for your group. Bring a small water and phone to take pictures. Don’t bring a big bag and you will get through security quick. Early is better. Beat heat and crowds. Better pics!!
Dear Karen, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a fantastic and practical review! It makes us smile to know you enjoyed the First Access tour! You summed up the early morning experience perfectly—getting in early to beat the heat and crowds makes a world of difference for both comfort and photos. We also really appreciate you sharing such helpful tips for future travelers about timing, security, and facilities. Thank you for exploring with us! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
This was misleading the way it was advertised. This tour was $90 which I thought included a museum ticket. Of course if I’m doing a Parthenon tour it should include a ticket to that! Not sure why it was 60$ more! Should have just done the regular tour for $30!
Dear Jennifer, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing confusion. We strive to be as clear as possible about our offerings: the tour provides different options, which are clearly stated and detailed in the inclusions descriptions. Guests have the option to book either with or without the site entrance ticket, as some may have already purchased their tickets. When selected, our pricing covers the expert-guided tour and the site entrance ticket (30 euros), which directly supports the preservation of these ancient landmarks (some guests, such as EU youth or seniors, may also be eligible for reduced site tickets independently). It is not possible that the single price of the tour includes the cost of the site entrance. We appreciate your feedback as we continuously work to make our tour listings as straightforward as possible. Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
Strong walkers suggested but the guide, Apollon did take some shade breaks. He was very knowledgeable and nice to my son :)
Hi Alex, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review! Apollon is fantastic, and we're so glad his depth of knowledge—and thoughtful shade breaks—made the hike enjoyable for both you and your son. Keeping everyone cool, comfortable, and engaged is definitely key on that tour! Thank you for exploring with us, and we wish you and your family safe and happy travels ahead! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
